The Oaklawn Inn was built in 1889 and is the only building left from a 518 acre stock farm. The house is built in the style of Queen Ann Victorian Farmhouse. The Oaklawn Inn has 4 lovely bedrooms with private bathrooms. A shared space of the Great Room, Parlor, Dining Room and large wrap around porch. The space This Queen Ann Victorian home was built in 1889. It is the only building left from a 518 acre stock farm. The Oaklawn Stock Farm was built by lumber baron Andrew Tainter. He built this home for his daughter Lottie Tainter and Son-in-Law George Sealy the Supervisor of the Stock Farm. It was on of the finest stock farms in the United States. It was established to breed not only the fastest race horses but to breed the very best. After Andrew Tainter passed in 1899, the Stock farm continued on until 1904 and then converted to standard farm. It stay in the Tainter family until 1946 then purchased by John Dale. In 1996, this house was purchased by Maggie Foote. She remodeled it and converted it to a Bed & Breakfast. Stephanie Perry purchased the house in 2021. She closed it to remodel it for a year and has opened it back up as the Oaklawn Inn Bed & Breakfast. The Oaklawn Inn has 4 lovely bedrooms with private bathrooms. A shared space of the Great Room, Parlor, Dining Room and large wrap around porch. The house currently sits in the center of Stout Technology Park. Guest access The room they rent, an upstairs foyer, the Great room, Dining Room, Parlor and wrap-around porch. During your stay The Inn Keeper will check them in, provide breakfast (on weekdays it will be a continental breakfast and weekends a hot breakfast) and check out. Other things to note This house has been around for over 130 years. Please cherish the time you spend here and respect the space you are in.
