Welcome to Hattie’s House! Our tastefully updated home is located in a quiet, safe neighborhood, just minutes from the University of Florida! Close by, you will find restaurants, coffee shops, bars, grocery stores, The Oaks Mall, Hospitals, Kanapaha Botanical Gardens, and all the fun that Gainesville has to offer! The Butterfly Garden and Natural History Museum, Devil’s Millhopper, Depot Park and World famous Natural Springs, are all just a short drive away. See our guidebook for more. The space This home-away-from-home’s split plan, makes it ideal for hosting couples, families or solo travelers. Enjoy the privacy and practicality of bedrooms and baths on either side of the common spaces, which includes kitchen, dining room, office nook, and two separate living areas. We have outfitted the home with modern upgrades, such as USB chargers, fast Wifi, 55’ Smart T.V., new flooring, black-out curtains, ceiling fans and more! Cornhole, board games and books for all ages are also provided. Kitchen Make delicious meals in the fully stocked kitchen, equipped with new appliances, skylight and peninsula. We provide all the goodies to get your day started, including drip, pod or pour over coffee, an assortment of teas and plenty of accoutrements to go with it! Our dining table seats 6 comfortably, for family and friends to share a meal or play a board game. We also supply a high chair for your little one, upon request. Bedrooms Both bedrooms are appointed with Queen beds, luxe linens and a variety of cozy blankets to suit everyones needs. You’ll also have soft and firm pillows to choose from, for an extra good nights sleep. Additional seating/sleeping area with full size bed is available. Bathrooms The en suite bathroom has a walk in shower and the 2nd bath, just off the bedroom, has a tub/shower combo. Both, newly renovated bathrooms, have all the essentials, such as shampoo, conditioner, body wash and plenty of plush white towels to accommodate everyone during your stay. T.V. Room Adjacent to the kitchen, the T.V. room is a nod to a mid-century modern retreat. Relax and watch your favorite streaming show or hang out at the kitchen peninsula while socializing with the chef. Living Room/Office Space The living room, with vaulted ceilings and candle lit fireplace, has a convertible sleeper sofa, which sleeps 2 comfortably. The office nook is perfect for working from home, with good lighting and fast, dependable Wifi. The Screened Porch Just off the kitchen, through the French doors, you’ll find a peaceful and pleasant, fresh air retreat, perfect for enjoying a morning cup of coffee or a glass of wine in the evening, all while enjoying the garden view. Laundry Room The newly renovated laundry facility is available for your convenience. We provide all Free and Clear products (No dyes or perfumes) and a drying rack, as well. The laundry room is for personal items only. Extra towels are happily provided upon request. The Outside In the front of the house, there is a paved driveway, large enough for two cars, and motion detector lighting , for late night arrivals! Free, on-street parking is also, always available. The backyard is completely fenced, landscaped and mostly shaded. There is plenty of outdoor seating available to birdwatch, read a book, or root from the sidelines during a friendly game of corn hole!! Guest access You will have access to the entire home and yard, with the exception of the owners closet. Other things to note Please be respectful! We have spent a great deal of time and energy renovating, curating and caring for our home. We take great pride in keeping it that way for our guests. Make yourself at home and enjoy the space, however, if you feel you will have trouble following our house rules, we kindly ask that you continue your search for a more suitable place to stay.
