Casa Maria - Deluxe Double King Beachfront Suites

One of seven vacation rental units at the sprawling Jardin del Mar estate, Casa Maria is the largest unit and boasts two separate, private king suites each with its own large, private bathroom. The two suites share a fully-equipped kitchen, large indoor living area and a large outdoor living room overlooking the ocean. The space Jardin del Mar was created by a retired American couple who lived here for 20 years before moving back to the states to be closer to family. They purchased the beachfront property in the 90s and it was nothing but a patch of dirt at the time. They built their dream retirement home and then, with their large extended family in mind, they kept adding more and more "Casas" to house visitors, until they realized they had accidentally built a charming boutique hotel. The six Casas each sleep between 2-4 people and they all have a kitchen so we rent them out individually as well as rent out the entire Estate to large groups. Casa Maria is located on the second floor, has two bedrooms each with a king bed, closet, full bathroom, large tiled shower with hot water, A/C, fully-equipped kitchen and both an indoor and outdoor living room. It's perfect for two couples or two friends traveling together or a small family. Jardin is authentically and beautifully Mexican... full of mosaics, tiles and stunning historical artifacts from all across the country. It truly is an "experience" and not just a beach house... You have to see it to believe it! Guest access All guests have access to: Private beach access, outdoor shower, lounge chairs and umbrellas, pool and toys, large barbecue area/entertaining space, sea kayaks, rooftop terrace, hammock porch, secure parking, all courtyards and gardens, etc. Also included throughout your stay: Complimentary purified water, coffee, non-dairy creamer, sugar, cooking oil, salt and pepper, paper products, etc. We also provide housekeeping on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. Other things to note None of the Casas at Jardin del Mar have TVs, but the WiFi works well throughout the whole property. Although we are directly on the beach, it's not a great beach for swimming because it starts to get rocky about 20 feet from our sea wall, but you can walk 10 minutes towards either La Cruz or Bucerias to find sandier beaches. (Our favorite swimming beach is called Destiladeras and it's about a 10-15 minute drive from Jardin and we have beach equipment you can borrow.) The Banderas Bay is not known for snorkeling or diving either. You'll have to do a boating excursion out to the Marietas Islands or hire a water taxi out of Punta de Mita if you want to snorkel. Also, the nearest surfing beaches are in Punta de Mita or Sayulita - each about a 20 minute car ride from here.
