Our beautiful villa stands on the entire upper level of a 1940 Neo-Classical building in the heart of the hip artistic Vedado district, within steps of trendy restaurants, music venues, entertainment nightspots, Malecón, Hotel Nacional, and 5-min drive to Old Havana. Full air-conditioning throughout our spacious home, 4 rooms with ensuite baths, a modern kitchen, front/back living rooms, and private roof terrace with comfortable dining/lounging areas and breathtaking views of Havana. The space Set on the entire upper level of a 1940 Neo-Classical building in the heart of vibrant Vedado, our villa is a very comfortable and well appointed home. You can easily walk to the Malecón, catch a cab, exchange money at the bank at the corner, walk to get basic supplies, walk to a few very reputable restaurants (amongst them an Anthony Bourdain pick, well known Café Laurent, and also the place across the street always packed with locals and live music) or walk to the Hotel Nacional for a cigar, or wifi on the terrace. The house itself is a symbol of the very place you are visiting: the original tile floors and wood doors are there, but all the bathrooms are beautifully updated and modern. Each of the 4 rooms has its own bathroom, plenty of space, bedside tables and lamps, and doors to close and lock. The beds are welcoming and comfortable (2 kings, 1 queen, and 1 double), linens and towels are all provided, AC in the entire home. With a front and back living room, a modern spacious kitchen fully equipped with everything you need, a rooftop terrace for smoking cigars under the night sky, lots of tropical house plants, and a balcony that opens to the street where you can hear sounds of live music that is the quintessence of Cuba. When you arrive at the house, you will find people whose main concern is to make you feel at home. We will welcome you and we will explain to you everything about the house and the services that we offer. We offer breakfasts for an extra fee. We will send you the menu and the price in advance. Guest access The apartment is completely private for the use of registered guests only. You will be asked to provide identification (passport) on arrival and sign in. These steps are in keeping with Cuban government policy. You will have your own keys to the apartment for your stay. These keys must be returned at check-out. The building is not wheelchair accessible and there's no elevator. The apartment itself is on the second floor, which means a ground-floor entrance level and then 2 high-ceilinged floors above it. However, the staircase has a good railing, the stairs are solid, with a medium riser height, and there are landings between and on each floor. We are happy to help you with your luggage when you arrive and leave the villa. Check-in and check-out: Gretel, the concierge of the property, will meet you to check you in and get you settled, and then again when you check out at the end of your stay, so we'll need your arrival and departure information. We ask that you give us the maximum notice possible if there's a change in your scheduled arrival or departure (e.g., a flight change). Also, please cooperate with the set check-out times so we can prepare for the next guests. However, if you would like some flexibility in check-in or check-out times, please make any such request in advance and we’ll do our best to accommodate everyone (outgoing and incoming guests). Other things to note Open your eyes and wake up with the fresh clean sea breeze from Malecon surrounded by the colonial spirit of the island, smell the fresh Cuban coffee and warm milk, “café con leche” as Cubans families call it, with delicious Cuban sugar. Enjoy tropical fruits and homemade juices. After that, walk along the Malecon just two blocks from the house and enjoy Havana!
