Villa El Capitán sits 20 meters from the water in Troncones, a dirt-road surf town with no resorts and no crowds. Four bedrooms, 4.5 baths, AC in every room, ocean-view infinity pool, and open-air living so you hear the waves from breakfast to bedtime. Sleeps 8 adults, and kids are very welcome. Five-minute walk to town, 30 minutes from Zihuatanejo airport, full-time staff on site, and 500 Mbps fiber if you need to stay reachable. Surf in the morning, eat at a palapa on the sand, and have your stretch of beach mostly to yourself. Manzanillo Bay is a 10-minute drive and La Saladita's legendary longboard wave is 30 — an easy base for a surf week. We'd recommend renting a car at the airport. You won't need it for town, but it opens up the breaks, the hot springs, and Zihuatanejo. Villa El Capitán is the flagship of Casa Hermoso Cariño. Eight private bungalows on the property book separately, or take the whole compound for up to 26 guests. Guest access The villa and its terraces are yours alone. Each bedroom locks with a standard key. Our staff greet you on arrival and are on site most days from 8am to 6pm. Hours are flexible for early or late arrivals — just send us your flight details ahead of time. About the pool: the large infinity pool is shared with guests of the eight bungalows on the property. It's rarely crowded, but if you want complete privacy, book the full compound and the whole place is yours. Other things to note Troncones was pure jungle 25 years ago and its wild soul is still very much intact. Please read this before booking: - Power and internet go out. Rural infrastructure, and we do not have a backup generator. Outages are usually brief but can last a few hours. Consider it an invitation to stargaze. - The living and dining rooms are open-air. AC is in the bedrooms only. Expect insects, geckos, and ocean sound, plus the occasional rooster, at all hours. - The road in is unpaved. A standard rental car is fine, just drive slowly. - Wildlife is part of the deal. Iguanas sunbathing, parrots in the palms, sea turtles nesting on the beach in season. - The ocean can be strong and there is no lifeguard. Ask our staff about conditions before swimming, especially with kids. None of this is a flaw — it's the trade for a beach with nobody on it. Come ready to slow down.
