Cottage Charm Logan Square –Private Rm/Bath + Den

Escape the city hustle and bustle in this quiet owner-occupied home and still be steps away from all that Logan Square has to offer. Surrounded by gardens and large trees, my home has a peaceful vibe and reflects my love of nature. The space This Private room plus den and private bath is in a renovated late 19th century Worker’s cottage and has all modern amenities. Located on the upper level, the room is bright and airy and gets morning sun. The room does not have black-out curtains and includes a queen size bed (BeautyRest Silver Luxury Firm–a medium to firm feel) with plenty of dresser and closet space. The décor is an eclectic mix of mid-century neo-classical with farmhouse vintage touches. There’s an adjacent private Den for working and relaxing that includes a couch, TV (streaming), desk, and chair. I renovated my home over 20 years ago and have collected cool architectural and vintage artifacts, which you’ll see throughout the home. The private full bathroom is stocked with the complimentary essentials. See Amenities section for a full list. This home is on a quiet, one-way street. Street parking is non-permit and usually available on the block. When parking after nightfall, parking can usually be found within a couple of blocks. A 10-minute walk will take you to popular Logan Square restaurants like Parsons, Giant, Scofflaw, and Middlebrow Bungalow. Or walk 1 block to hop on the 606 Trail or grab a Divvy commuter bike to explore the boulevards and parks. There is a bus stop 2 blocks away, that will take you to the CTA Blue Line subway–a major transit route into Downtown (a 30-40 min trip) or out to O'hare. I occasionally have a foster dog on the premises, which is not permitted upstairs where the guest suite is located. Guest access I greet you when you arrive and show you to your room. I'll give you keys, show you the shared spaces, and go over any house notes. I'll send a message 2 days prior to your arrival date to confirm your arrival time. If you arrive before check-in time of 3pm, you can drop off your luggage and then check-in later. Check-in is only available until 10:00pm. I live/work on the premises and have my own bedroom, bathroom, and office. I am home most days. I enjoy meeting and chatting with all my Airbnb guests, but your privacy will be respected. You’ll have access to the shared spaces: eat-in kitchen (for microwave cooking) and outdoor deck which is perfect for morning coffee or tea (when weather permits). Other things to note COVID policy: I am fully vaccinated. Masks are no longer required in the common areas, but I ask that if you are not feeling well or have knowingly been exposed to Covid in the past week that you inform me and wear a mask in the common areas. Quiet Hours: Daily 10:00pm-7:30am. This is an older home, so while the amenities are modern, elements like doors, and hardware are vintage, with a worn patina. The bedroom and bathroom doors do not lock but are for guest access only. The bedroom faces east and will be bright with morning sun. There are no black-out curtains on the windows, so this room is not a good fit for someone who needs a pitch-dark room. KITCHEN USE: For stays of 1 week or less, kitchen is available for microwave cooking only. For stays longer than 1 week, kitchen is available for light cooking. Storage and refrigerator space is shared but may be limited. Guests have access to staples (salt, oil, sugar, spices, etc). Meals should only be eaten in kitchen. No meals allowed in bedroom. LAUNDRY: For stays longer than 1-week, on-site laundry machines are available. Guests provide their own laundry detergent. For stays longer than 2 weeks, clean bed linens will be provided every other week. Bi-weekly cleaning service is included. MAIL AND PACKAGE DELIVERY Please do not schedule direct delivery of your mail/package to my home. It is recommended to make use of a nearby pickup/drop-off location to guarantee receipt of your mail/package. Packages have gotten lost in the past. NO smoking in the home or on the premises. NO weapons. NO guests not included in original booking, NO locals, NO third-party bookings.
