Description
Enjoy a comfy room: 21 minute walking distance to the train station (or 34 Bus, same time travel) A king size bed with a very good mattress. Fully equipped kitchen. Next door: Buses to the Old Port (less than 25 minutes travel). City E-bikes can be rented next door (first 30min free, then 1-2€ ride) Supermarkets round: SupEco, Carefour, Aldi,Asiatique There is a market on a neigbouring square every 2 days On Mondays a bio market in la Friche IT IS MY SECONDARY HOUSE; I AM NOT ALWAYS THERE! The space The double-bed room with a high quality mattress is located in an old house that survived the 2nd World War. It has walls made of stone. You can still enjoy the view of beams below the ceiling downstairs. You are free to use the fully equipped French style kitchen with a coffee machine, fridge and oven. You can enjoy the sunniest place in France (Marseille has over 300 sunny days in year on average) to its fullest thanks to its south exposed windows. The place is meant for people who like mingling of cultures. On the local market you can buy African dresses, both oriental and French spices, as well as Savon de Marseille. It is a working class district, refered to in French as popular (not in the sense of gladly frequented, but not poshy / elegant). It is pre-gentrification stage in a city competing with Paris in the number of social issues, and it is not artistic for no reason: it is still affordable to live here, so not money oriented artists rent flats in Belle de Mai. The Poshy part is in the direction of David Statue, so couples who look for elegant holidays with champagne enjoying the sunset should look in that direction or in the first row of the Old Port, as this one is still being cleaned on a regular basis. Here it is an explorers' zone, though la Friche and Chapiteu visitors for parties or cultural events, or students from the nearby university should feel at home. Guest access You are renting a double room upstairs (you need to climb stairs). There is another one person room next to yours that might be being used as well. With the person you are sharing the surface downstairs, i.e. the living room with the open kitchen and the kitchen table and the bathroom with the shower. During your stay I am not always available in person, as it is my secondary house. If you do not meet me there, just reach out via airbnb app.
