Shepherds hut, wonderful views, Alpacas & HotTub

Looking for a romantic countryside escape with a few unusual neighbours! Our cosy shepherd’s hut sits beside a fenced field where our four, new but friendly alpacas live, so you’ll have some very charming company during your stay (possibly a few sheep!). Relax in our new 54 jet hot tub whilst star gazing, an absolute must! Spend your days hiking, visiting Brighton/Eastbourne, or simply relaxing on a deck chair with a glass of Prosecco. No noise or light pollution, just each other... bliss x The space The shepherd’s hut sits in a large field behind our house and feels wonderfully private. Between the house and the hut there’s a tall walled garden, so from the house we can only see the hut’s chimney – the entire field and outdoor space is yours to enjoy during your stay. You’ll have full use of the mowed grassy area down to the hut, a space with sun loungers, unfortunately our hot tub decided to die on us last week, so we are currently ordering a new one and will get it fitted asap! If you fancy putting some music on and relaxing, that’s absolutely fine too – the only ones likely to hear it are the sheep and the occasional mole. Inside the hut you’ll also find a large storage space underneath the bed, perfect for bags, clothes and anything else you’d like tucked away. There will always be enough coals and logs available for the BBQ or fire pit. If you do happen to run out, we keep plenty spare and are happy to provide more, for a small cost. If you forget anything during your stay, please don’t hesitate to knock on the door and ask – we’re always happy to help if we can. Just a small note about the location: we share the wider plot of land with an equine veterinary centre. You may see a small number of vehicles during the week and occasionally one or two at the weekend. The hospital is open weekdays from 8:30am to 5:30pm (unless there is an emergency) and is usually closed at weekends. The hut sits in a large field with a wide strip of grass that is mowed weekly. The field directly in front of the hut is fenced and is home to our four, new and friendly alpacas, who may come over to say hello during your stay. You may also notice the occasional new molehill appear – although we’re still yet to actually spot Mr Mole himself! For the bathroom, we have what I like to call the “Lav Shack” (or Narnia). It’s a compost loo rather than a traditional flushing toilet. Simply lift the lid, do your business, add a small scoop of compost afterwards and you’re done. It might feel unusual at first, but it’s very easy to use and much kinder to the environment. Inside the hut you’ll find a welcome book with instructions for the Wi-Fi, induction hob, hot tub, wood burner and other essentials. If you need help with anything at all during your stay, feel free to send a text or pop up to the house – we’re always happy to help. Guest access The guests have access to the field the shepherds hut sits in, it’s beautiful at the minute and all coming alive again after the Winter. If your bringing your furry friend, they will absolutely love the field. and if like myself love taking selfies, stand in the middle and take photographs of yourself, it feels like your in the middle of nowhere. Along the back of the house there’s an area we call ‘the beach’ its a pebbly square with beautiful smelling lavender and various grasses, its also home to two sun loungers, a little table and another fire pit. The views to this are truly beautiful and peaceful so a must on an evening to sit back and chill with your fav tipple. We have a rather noisy owl somewhere down the field and it’s quite funny trying to mimic him on an evening. **NEW SUPER DUPER HOT TUB** Other things to note This is your little bit of paradise whilst here, so if you want to bring a speaker and play your music, that’s perfectly fine, there’s only the sheep and moles who will hear it. ***NEW SUPER DUPER HOT TUB FITTED*** The wood burner in the hut is stocked up with coals and wood etc. The BBQ is ready to rock n roll with coal and firelighters. The firepit has a metal bin at the side with logs and firelighters/paper etc. There's also a box of matches. If you do need more, I have bagged up logs for sale. Also when booking, if you are staying because you’re celebrating a special occasion or surprising someone, please let me know, so I can add some extra little treats and notes. Plus don’t forget to give me your travelling partners name so I can include them on your welcome plaque. Because of new laws, all dogs must be on a lead around livestock and our alpacas, so we have installed three extra long leads attached to rings secured in the ground for your pooches, one near the hut, one near the alpacas and the other by the hot tub.
