The LemonCello. Cozy Retreat in Native Bush

🍋🎻Rest and relax in this cozy retreat nestled in a tranquil native bush setting - only a 30 min commute by car or train from Wellington CBD & the ferry terminals. 🍋🎻This is the perfect environment to unwind, read a book, listen to the native bird song, go on a bush walk and even enjoy the glow-worms 🌟🐛 living just a few meters away across the little creek running through the property. Or maybe play the 100-year-old cello the sleepout is named after - serenading the free-ranging pet chickens ☺️ The space 🍋🎻 The newly renovated LemonCello (a one-room studio) is connected via a deck with the brand new freestanding bathroom and located at the back of the section behind the main house. This set-up is fully self contained and provides full privacy. 🍋🎻 A beautiful vintage oak sideboard is being used as a kitchenette and comes with a microwave, water kettle, toaster, air fryer as well as a bar fridge. 🍋🎻 The vintage set of drawers doubles up a seating area. The comfy bed is a double-size (wooden frame with slats). 🍋🎻 On the deck you are welcome to make use of foldable chairs and table to enjoy an outdoor meal. It is also the perfect place for some meditation or yoga. Yoga matt included ☺️🧘🏽‍♀️ 🍋🎻 You will also find a small desk - perfect for remote working - or a meal with a view. Should you prefer more space / room for the yoga mat instead, yourhost is happy to remove it for your. A desk chair can also be provided upon request as well as a monitor. Guest access 🍋🎻 The retreat can be accessed via the short drive way. It is slightly steeper than some drivers might be comfortable with. Safest way is to reverse up. You are also most welcome to park at the bottom of the property and walk the approx. 20m instead ☺️ 🍋🎻 Guests have exclusive use of the separate bathroom as well as the back yard. 🍋🎻 You will need to be comfortable to climb 3 short flights of stairs without railings (6 + 4 + 4) steps in total. Please refer to the photos). 🍋🎻 Should you arrive after dark, three sets of sensor lights will illuminate your way from the top of the drive way. Other things to note 🍋🎻 The wider whanau / family includes the super friendly heading dog/collie Jess, cat Licia - as well as 5 pet chickens. Usually the chocks are free-ranging, however can be kept enclosed as well depending on the guest’s preference. They are making rather cute noises - no rooster amongst them ☺️ 🍋🎻 Jess is extremely friendly with humans of all ages; to ensure guests are comfortable she can also be kept inside/on leash during the stay. Just let us know your preference and we are happy to accomodate. 🍋🎻 Though sadly the space isn’t accessible for wheelchairs, this is an inclusive home 🌈 🌻and safe space and my little fur&feather family and I welcome guests of all backgrounds. 🍋🎻 The tap water in the bathroom is of great drinking quality. 🍋🎻 One last thing to note is that there is no running water in the retreat and your host will happily do the dishes for you 🧚 🍋🎻 You are also welcome to use the portable fire brazier if conditions allow.
