Old sheepfold at altitude. Beautiful view!
Description
This former sheepfold is located in a hilltop village, in a cul-de-sac, at an altitude of 950 meters in the Baronnies Nature Park, close to the Méouge Gorges The village is the starting point for many hiking, trail running and mountain biking routes, just 7 km from the Orpierre climbing site. The place is ideal for reconnecting with nature, writing, or getting away from it all... There is a wild and poetic garden, starry skies and the calm is absolute. It is accessed by a short trail. The space The cottage (50 m²) is functional, bright, and composed as follows: - Living room with equipped American kitchen: oven, 4-burner gas cooktop, small fridge, small freezer, blender, Italian coffee maker, and basic kitchen supplies. Living room area with sofa, wood-burning stove, table, dining area, small library where you can lose yourself... Small desk space. The furniture, like the dishes, is a cheerful mix of manufactured, new, or second-hand items. - BD: 2 single beds 90 cm x 190 cm, Bultex mattress. "Memory foam" pillows. Bed linen (washed cotton) and towels are provided, as well as dish towels. Large dressing room (clothes-hanging cupboard and shelves) - Bathroom: sink, washing machine, shower cubicle, free-standing dryer. The toilet is separated by a curtain. The large terrace (35 m²) will allow you to fully enjoy the landscape. Southwest-facing. The garden furniture consists of a table, 6 chairs, a deck chair and a small garden armchair. The garden is fenced (400 m²). One part is flat, and the other is sloping, with fruit trees (pear, plum), wildflowers, aromatic herbs, insects and butterflies from our childhood... Some things to note: - The internet connection is via 4G. - The 3 rooms (living room-office-kitchen / BA / BD) are separate, with visual privacy respected, but there is no door. Movement between these 3 spaces is smooth. - There is a wood-burning stove and electric heaters as backup if needed in winter. - Please note that there is no store in the village itself, apart from Thierry's farm (goat cheeses, pear juice, sausages, eggs, berries...). Lots of shops/restaurants in Serres, Laragne or Orpierre. The place is located 1.5 hours from Aix-en-Provence, 2 hours from Marseille/Grenoble and 3 hours from Lyon/Nice. There are no buses that come to the village. You can only get there by car or: - TGV train station in Aix-en-Provence, 1 hour 30 minutes away (possibility of renting a car on site) - Laragne SNCF station (Marseille/Briançon line) and then taxi or car rental. Guest access Self check-in via a lockbox. The ideal is to arrive during the day. The house is located at the end of a small path that starts right next to the old town hall. If you arrive late in the evening or at night, the +/- 10-meter-long trail is lit by solar lights. As soon as you arrive near the house, a presence detector lighting will turn on. Other things to note - Numerous hikes (or trails) starting from the village and the Beynaves state forest. 470 km of marked trails including the GR de Pays Tour du Sud de Buëch-Méouge and the GR de Pays Grande. Crossing of the Prealps which makes it possible to cross the mountain of Chabre via the Saint-Ange pass (1238 m). - Climbing site classified of international interest (800 level 3 to 8c routes) 4 km away (Orpierre). - Belleric Botanical Trail to discover the characteristic species of the region. - Swimming in the Méouge or Riou gorges, in the swimming pool (Orpierre), in lakes and rivers. Lake Riou is 20 minutes away. Possibility of kayaking. - Numerous marked mountain bike trails. Orpierre is located on the route of the Great Crossing of the Alps by mountain bike, a route between Lake Geneva and the Mediterranean. - Canyoning, hang gliding and paragliding 45 minutes away. And many markets and festivals in season in the area. Registration Details 3065458914063
