Start with 10–15 minutes in the panoramic wood-fired sauna, cool off in the cold plunge (set to 15–16°C), then relax in the cedar hot tub or stretch out on the deck. Repeat the cycle up to four times for the full Nordic ritual. It’s especially magical under the stars or during a snowfall. Elevate your post-sauna ritual or start your morning fresh with our rustic outdoor shower and cold plunge bucket (available during warmer months). 🌞 SUMMER ESCAPE 🌞 ✅ Canoe or kayak along Shadow River & Lake Rosseau. ✅ Relax on the deck, grill on the charcoal Weber BBQ, or explore nearby Rosseau Beach. ✅ Hike Muskoka’s scenic trails or visit the local Farmer’s Market. 🏖️ SWIMMING & WATER ACCESS: Hygge is a riverfront property located on the scenic Shadow River — we are not directly on Lake Rosseau. While the river at our property is beautiful for paddling, it is NOT swimmable in our section. We provide a canoe and kayaks, and a scenic ~25-minute paddle takes you directly to Lake Rosseau for swimming and exploring. Prefer to drive? Lake Rosseau Marina is just 3 minutes away and has a great public beach, while Four Mile Point Park, about 8 minutes away, offers a quieter beach that’s a favourite with locals. ❄️ WINTER WONDERLAND ❄️ ✅ Cozy up by the fireplace or relax in the hot tub under the stars. ✅ Enjoy snowshoeing on private trails (snowshoes provided). ✅ Nearby Hidden Valley Ski Resort for skiing & snowboarding. 🚗 The private road is well-maintained and plowed but requires AWD or winter tires during snowfalls. 🚫 Winter Parking: During snowy or freeze–thaw conditions, please park in the open driveway area away from the roofline to avoid the risk of falling snow or ice. MORE ABOUT OUR CABIN: 🌲 The lower level welcomes you with an inviting open-concept layout, featuring a MODERN KITCHEN equipped with premium stainless steel appliances, including a convenient wine fridge and induction oven. The kitchen is fully stocked with all the kitchen necessities, basic spices and cooking oil, Nespresso coffee pods and a selection of teas (freshly-made ice is available in the freezer). 🌲Gather around the dining table, or unwind in the cozy living area beside the captivating Stuv WOOD FIREPLACE. 🌲Three COZY BEDROOMS await, offering comfortable accommodations including two Queen beds and a bunk bed (all featuring high-end orthopedic mattresses). 🌲 A luxurious FULL BATHROOM with modern amenities such as heated floors, large shower head, washer and dryer ensure ultimate convenience. 🌲 On the SECOND FLOOR area relaxation takes center stage. Lounge on the expansive sectional while enjoying entertainment on the 75” Smart TV (use your login to access your streaming service such as Netflix or Prime), or enjoy playing board games against the backdrop of river and forest views. Here you will also find another full bathroom with a large shower head and heated floors. 🌲Gather around the cozy FIRE PIT area to roast marshmallows or play the guitar. Guest access As a guest you have access to the whole house (except our personal storage area at the entrance that is kept locked) on a private 7.5-acre lot with your own trails. You can roam the property outside and go down to our dock on Shadow River equipped with a canoe and 2 kayaks.
