Close by you will find the thrilling Alton Towers theme park for the adrenaline junkies amongst you. Drive, or take the opportunity to avoid traffic queues and car park costs by taking the footpath up through the woods on the opposite side of the valley. You'll enter the Park at the back of the hotel in less than 15 minutes. Walking and cycling is excellent in this area with miles of woodland trails to enjoy. Dovedale and the limestone Churnet Valley are also right on the doorstep, and the Manifold Way is also close by. From The Cow Barn you have easy access to many of the area’s attractions, including Chatsworth and Haddon country estates, Lyme Park, as seen in the TV drama ’Pride and Prejudice’ and Ilam Park to explore.
