Liberty Retreat

Relax and enjoy life at this private, year-round cedar log cabin. This property is not child proofed therefore 13 is the minimum age but you may inquire. We are located 2 miles from Liberty Center on pristine Stevens Pond. Explore and fish the coves and waters of this 350 acre pond with the kayaks or canoe provided. The Winter months provide ice fishing, cross country skiing, snow shoeing, ice skating and Snowmobiling. Any gear you may need is available locally. "Maine, The Way Life Should Be." The space The cabin is fully equipped with most all the comforts of home. As you enter the property, the 'half-wraparound' porch has a swing, rocking chairs and outdoor dining options, and a BBQ (gas) and all its tools. Take the shared cedar walkway down to the waterfront where you'll find a large raised platform overlooking the beautiful pond where loons and herons can be spotted. Relax in a rocking chair with a glass of wine and enjoy a sunset, or later. a view of the Milky Way that many "from away" have never seen. The watercraft, paddles/oars and floatation devices etc. are located along the water. Inside the cabin, enjoy an open floorplan with comfy seating and dining areas, a fully equipped kitchen, bathroom with stand-up shower, washer/dryer, writing desk and Smart TV. Up the narrow spiral stairs, you'll find a lovely bedroom with a queen bed with AC and a private deck for relaxing with your morning coffee. The second bedroom has a queen and single bed with AC. Comfortable linens and extra pillows, along with the quiet of the woods, will help to lull you to sleep. Guest access You will have access to the entire cabin, parking in front, access down the walkway to the shared waterfront with kayak, canoe and dock. There are designated hiking trails nearby and in the winter (weather permitting), snowmobile trails can be accessed along a section of our road. Other things to note Guests must be 21 years of age or older and children minimum 13 years of age. This cabin is not child proofed. A maximum of one pet may be allowed (I may consider two) and must be no larger than 45 pounds and a fee of $50.00 each. (Trained service dogs are always welcome!) Some dogs may have difficulty with the spiral stairs. The porch has a pet gate for a "free range" option, but when walking your pet it must be leashed. Because of the narrow spiral stairs there is a manually operated dumbwaiter attached to the upstairs railing for backpacks and suitcases. There is also a basket (located in the island cabinet) for hauling up food and beverages. Verizon has the best cell service for Maine. There is a Smart TV mounted on the wall and internet is available through Hughes Net. There is also a Firestick available. Guests must use their own streaming service accounts, such as Netflix, Hulu, etc. and their own Amazon account to use the Firestick. (You do not need Amazon Prime, just a regular account, to use a firestick!) Food supplies can be picked up on the way in, off Rt 3 (Hannaford's) in the town of China, 17 miles before you get to Liberty.
