Birds and Bees Lodge
Birds and Bees Lodge
Description
Cosy eco-lodge in beautiful location with an earthy tone, the lodge has one large bedroom with a double or two single beds and open floor plan sitting room with kitchen, sitting area and wood burning stove. Double french doors open on to a lovely timber deck overlooking the garden. Suitable for a couple or small family, the Birds n Bees Lodge is ideal for romantic getaways or time with small children. Available self-catering November to March only. The space Like all the accommodation at Slieve Aughty Centre, the Birds n Bees Eco Lodge is unique in colour and decor. Artistic touches indoors and out create an atmosphere of peace and calm where you are instantly whisked away from all the worries of day to day life. The bedroom window provides a wild scene of greenery where birds and other wildlife make their home. Double french doors open onto a large timber deck overlooking lush gardens and the vaulted ceiling with skylight makes sure the interior is bright and cheery. There is no television or wifi in the eco-lodge. The world outside beckons you to explore and unplug. Free wifi is available in The Three Towers Eco House and Organic Kitchen. Horse riding and donkey hire is available on site and needs to be booked minimum 5 days in advance. We provide one bag of timber for the wood burning stove. Additional timber can be purchased for €6 per bag or feel free to bring your own. Guest access The entire eco-lodge is yours, and you have access to the miles and miles of trails for walking, cycling or horse riding (by advance booking), the Enchanted Forest and playground for the kids, and of course a visit to the stables. If you want to have a night off cooking, the Slieve Aughty Woods cafe next store serves lunch and dinner on weekends. Other things to note I highly recommend good hiking boots and bicycles if you are coming by car. If you would like to do some horse riding when you arrive, please book in advance. In the shorter days of the year a head torch is handy, but make sure to have a look at the sky - on a clear night the stars are mind-boggling. While dogs are allowed, the are NOT allowed in the bedrooms or on the furniture, in the guest house, garden or playground. They must be on a lead while at the main centre and if the chase our farm animals you will be asked to leave. We have several large dogs that live free roaming on the property so your dog must be socialised. If you do not clean up after your dog at the centre we will charge you a fee of €50. Please be a responsible dog owner so we can continue to allow guests to bring their furry friends.
