The Ferryland Red House was immortalized in a 2017 photo while capturing a huge iceberg grounded in the waters near the community. Located alongside the archeological dig at the Colony of Avalon, we are the last house on the road to the Lighthouse built in 1861. A traditional saltbox style home - our lovely Red House has 5 bedrooms upstairs and an ocean view from every window in the house. NICE BALCONY W/ Fire Pit! Drive up to the end of the driveway and breathe in the salt air before entering our home through the back door. After walking through our mudroom, you enter the dining room featuring a large wall mural depicting a gathering of friends from the early 1600's. Lounge on our built in daybed and tell stories of your day out exploring. A small kitchen is attached through which you can go to a laundry room and a half bath. Leaving the dining room you can move into the living room area or a recreation area with wood stove. From the living room, you can ascend a traditional staircase to our second floor. The second floor features five bedrooms each with ocean view and a full bathroom. The property includes 5 bedrooms with a total of 5 beds. Four of the bedrooms each have a double bed, accommodating 2 guests per room. The 5th bedroom has a single bed, which is suitable for the 9th guest. Guest access The entire place is your to enjoy. Exclusive and private. Other things to note Please bring your own firewood for “fire pit”. If driving from St. John’s, the best location is Cape Broyle Ultramar. You'll receive your check-in instructions on the day of your check-in at 12PM. Please note that only registered guests are allowed on the property, unless explicitly approved by the owner or host in advance. Guests are kindly requested to contact the host or owner for approval prior to inviting any additional guests. We prioritize the safety and comfort of our guests, and unauthorized guests are not permitted. Furthermore, in order to maintain a peaceful environment, we strictly prohibit parties or large gatherings on the property unless specifically approved by the host. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation. We welcome dogs but unfortunately do not permit cats. This policy is in place due to specific considerations and factors such as allergies, behavior, safety concerns, and property maintenance. We strive to maintain a comfortable and safe environment for all our guests. We will only be able to accommodate a maximum of two dogs., with the total not exceeding $100.00. This ensures that pet owners can enjoy our services while keeping costs manageable No dogs without host permission and fees paid. The dog fee is $40 per pet per stay, with a maximum of two dogs allowed. Please register accordingly.
