Nature & Art Off-Grid Dome
NOV 1st thru APRIL 1st Winter rules Private off-the-grid dome experience to clear your mind and activate your inner natural creativity. Located on historic River Road next to an old quarry turned township park and within minutes to Ringing Rocks and the Delaware River, privacy and nature abounds. Get cozy in this unique Dome experience with an artistic flare. No WiFi. composting toilet, Joolca hot tap propane sink & shower, berkey water filter system. Solar and ryobi 18 volt battery electric. The space Spacious dome for up to four people. 1 King sized bed, Loft for two additional guests. Must climb ladder for loft access. Loft includes a soft mattress pad and a bean bag chair. This area is great for sleeping bags! Guests must BYO king fitted sheets, pillow cases or sleeping bags and bath towels. Linens/bath towels are NOT provided. We are happy to make up the king bed and provide bath towels for a fee of $50. If you just want us to supply the linens and towels and you make the bed yourself only $30. The loft bed is BYO only and meant for sleeping bags. You will need sleeping/camping gear! BYO cooler to store food and/or ice. NO FOOD/DRINKS inside dome. We provide Coffee, Green Tea and water which is fine to drink inside dome. (Sorry NO SUGAR) Please keep everything else outside. During the Winter months November 1st -March 31st we can not provide water so please BYO. Also, due to freezing temps, the shower and sink will not be part of the experience. We provide an assortment of Ryobi 18 volt battery lights. Head lamp lighting is highly recommended. We have a blue bin filled with camping items such as: silicone pour over coffee maker with filters, ground coffee, tea, 2 burner coleman foldable propane stove. 1 propane bottle included. (Use matches to light stove) Cast iron pans, tea kettle, dishes, cups and utensils provided. Guests are expected to wash all dishes used before they leave. ALL COOKING MUST BE DONE OUTSIDE THE DOME BY PICNIC AREA/FIRE PIT. Only Coffee, Tea or Water inside Dome. If you use anything in the Blue Bin please clean it and put it back as you found it. A great place for breakfast/coffee/snacks is Homestead General Store. It is historic and right along the canal path. PLEASE BYO H20/WATER AND LIGHTS FOR CHECK IN AND DARK TIMES. EXPECT TEMP TO BE SAME INSIDE AND OUTSIDE JUST LIKE A TENT. Guest access You will have the entire property to yourselves. We have two neighbors, one is a quarry turned park. The other you may see mowing the lawn or tending to their property. Other things to note FAQs This is a list of questions and answers developed to help potential guests determine if they would like to experience/book this stay. If you have a question not on here, please let us know and we will add it for future guests! Can we have a fire and is there wood? Please state if you would like firewood. It is $5 per bundle and you can pre pay or leave cash on table before you leave to pay for what you use. 1 bundle will last about 30-45 min depending on how big you make the fire. Is there electric? NO. We have some Ryobi 18 volt flashlights to get you going. We reccomend brining your own if you have them. Head lamps are great too. Is there a thermostat/heating or cooling? NO. This is an off-the grid experience. What do I do when it gets really cold? Come prepared and be ready to use blankets/sleeping bags. We supply heavy wool blankets for winter but encourage everyone to BYO whatever they like. What do I do when it gets really hot? Open the 2 side flaps on the dome and attach them using the carabiners provided. This will create a breeze. Instructions are also provided with check-in. What should I do with food items? As we do not want to attract unwanted guests, please place all food items in a sealed container or cooler. NO FOOD/DRINKS inside Dome other then provided Coffee, Tea or Water. Will there be insect or bugs? Maybe and Yes! While we try our best to keep the inside of the dome reserved of guests only. This is a natural experience and you may come across an unwanted bug or insect. Please know this going into the experience. We provide a fly swatter. Please BYO your own bug spray if you think this will be an issue for you or your group. Will there be things larger than insects or bugs? Maybe and Yes! Larger wild life in this area include deer, raccoon, skunk, turkey vultures, turtles, snakes etc. Coyotes can be heard off in the distance howling if you are lucky! Please keep all food in closed container or cooler to discourage animals from getting an easy meal. You will probably like this stay if you want to: -Experience nature to the extreme, try a compostable toilet, be "off-grid". Don't mind seeing bugs, insects, wild life or hearing any noises related to nature. Be OK without HVAC. Are a camper but looking for more than a campsite. Have never camped but want to give it a try.
