Description

Modern studio annex to 1850s cottage with its own access, close to to the stunning city of York. Looks onto big family garden, feels like a country retreat but only 20-25 minutes' easy and beautiful river walk from city centre. Well behaved pets welcome. Should the annex be booked for your preferred dates, do look up our shepherds hut. Please note that ‘cancelled dates’ mentioned in the March 2020 reviews were due to government Covid regulations - not us The space A lovely studio attached to the main house with a king-size bed and its own sitting area. The feeling is clean and modern, though outside it's more like a country cottage, with our nearest neighbours more than 100m away. There's a simple kitchenette area with a sink, fridge, microwave and tea/coffee-making facilities, but no hob/oven. There is an electric shower, sink and toilet. If you're bringing children, then we can provide two single blow-up mattresses - the garden has a pond. We also have 2 hens and a dog (who never comes into the annex). The floors are tiled, which can be chilly on the feet in winter, so slippers can be a bonus! Guest access The annex has its own entrance with direct access to a large family garden, which you're free to enjoy. Access by car is via a country lane (bring a torch if arriving at night on foot) and there's free parking on the drive. If you're driving then go to Fulford Cross and follow the lane between the Steiner School and Danesgate Centre down towards the allotments, then bear left at the gate (there's a blue sign indicating the Millenium bridge is to the right - you go left) and we're at the end of the track - there's space for a taxi to turn round. If you're walking or on bikes, there's direct access from the garden to the riverside cycle track and Millennium Bridge. It's 15 minutes' easy walking by the river into the city or just a few minutes on a bike. Other things to note We'll provide cereal, and milk/tea/coffee - for you to prepare in your own kitchen area. There’s also a microwave and fridge provided.
