Set in the beautiful surroundings of Bryn Bach Parc, the 2.5 flat, fast laps around the lake promise to be an opportunity for your 5k PB. Stay for a coffee and breakfast after your run in the Lake View Cafe where free showers and changing facilities are on offer or enjoy a walk around the 340 acre park. Tredegar is also a stones throw from the highest village in wales - Trefil. At 1,342ft above sea level it’s ideal for hiking, mountain biking and running on or off road with stunning views of the Brecon Beacons and the highest peak in south wales, Pen Y Fan. Explore bridal paths, fresh water lakes and disused limestone quarries in the surroundings of Trefil but don’t be surprised if you find them familiar! Many blockbuster movies and series have used to location for filming including ‘Wrath of the Titans’, ‘The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy’, ‘The Witcher’, and ‘His Dark Materials’ Not too far away (5 miles) you will find West Mon Golf Club which boasts the highest Tee off in Great Britain. The 14th tee is over 1500ft above sea level so expect so incredible views and maybe just a small breeze (😉😉) if you visit.
