Charming Private Yellow Cottage

Kick back and relax in this calm, stylish one-bedroom cottage located in a peaceful and accessible North Portland neighborhood. Enjoy lounging under the Redwood trees right outside your cottage, or cooking on a 5-burner Bosch gas stove in your full kitchen. Enjoy the historic 1900's hardwood floors and new European appliances. Drive or bike to multiple awesome neighborhoods within 6-10 minutes. After a long day, enjoy the tiled walk-in shower and dream sweetly on your queen Casper mattress. The space This one-bedroom cottage is on the same lot with the main home, but it is entirely private and separate with a fully separate entrance, separate (off street) parking and a small side yard (fenced but not fully enclosed). Furnishings are high quality and unique! Can accommodate up to three guests (two in main bedroom and one on full-sized futon). The main living space (kitchen, dining and living rooms) is open concept with a modern 'garage door' design that lets in light with a dimmable chandelier and small pantry area for food storage. The blue couch is convertible to a full-sized bed (please note the ends of the couch mean this is sleeping spot is only suitable for people who are not tall). The bedroom can be separated from the main living space by a sliding barn door. The bedroom has dedicated heat vent controlled by a thermostat. To access the bathroom, you have to walk through the bedroom. The bedroom has a door to the side yard that can be used in emergencies and a clothing rack to hang clothing. All bedding is protected by pillow and mattress protectors. Casper mattress, on the firmer side. Extra bedding provided. The bathroom has a pocket door and stacked European washer/dryer (they are quiet but take a bit longer). Shower is a beautiful tiled walk-in (no curtain). Water-saving toilet with hidden tank. Four sets of towels provided. Please note: I comply with the City of Portland's permitting process and regulations to keep everyone safe and in compliance (notifying neighbors, proper safety features, etc). One of the city's regulations is that all (legal) hosts in Portland keep a log of guest license plates and mailing addresses on file to display upon inspection by the city. To protect your safety/privacy, I'll request this information via AirBnb messenger after you check in and will not share the information with anyone (except the city, if they inspect). Guest access You have full and private access to the cottage with your full kitchen, outdoor seating area, bathroom and in-unit washer/dryer. On a warm day, you may glimpse us on our back deck or back yard as you arrive back to the space (separated by fence). We're more than happy to interact with you or give you your privacy (we'll follow your lead!). We also empty trash and recycling by walking by the front of the cottage to the trash area. The cottage kitchen window looks out into our back yard but the height is offset such that it's pretty private (and the window has a screen you can pull down if you want even more privacy). You might catch me working in my home office from your kitchen window. Other things to note AMENITIES (more info): - Please note that this is a non-smoking (and non-vaping) property. - Full sized kitchen with new European Bosch appliances (five burner gas stove) and tiled backsplash. Full-sized fridge - New microwave, new coffee-maker - Full bathroom with beautiful walk-in tiled shower (no tub) - Smart TV with Roku so you can watch all of your favorite shows - Entrance is a modern 'garage style' door that lets in light (and you can open for a nice breeze in warm weather). - A/C and heat - Small side yard for entertaining, etc - Casper mattress (queen size). There is also a futon that folds to a full-sized bed if you have a visitor stay over (not suitable for tall people). - Fully furnished with housing essentials such as kitchen supplies (dishes, pots/pans, etc), linens, basic bathroom items, first aid kit, hairdryer, etc. **A note about cleaning: impeccably cleanliness is important to me! When I go on vacation, I want to feel safe and relaxed and I want the same for you! We sterilize all high-touch surfaces (doorknobs, light switches, handles, counters, remotes, soap dispensers, etc). We also fully exchange air between guests for a minimum of two hours. All linens are washed on sanitary (high heat). Eco-friendly products used wherever possible.
