Tree top cabin with a hanging bridge at Ekne

Spend the night in a cabin on stilts between the trees. The cabin is located 3 meters above the ground, and has everything you need for a unique overnight stay in the troll forest. You have your own unique 10m long suspension bridge, which takes you to a separate barbecue area up between the trees. Here you'll find good comfortable chairs, tables and benches, a fire pan and a fireplace. And a hammock net on the terrace where you can read a book or take the "bed" out with you. We offer (architect-designed) solutions in the middle of the forest, well suited for a night or three. Here the table hangs like a flap on the wall, the sofa is also a bed, the mini kitchen is in place and a bio toilet is wall to wall. Here you have everything you need in a few square meters. Large windows allow you to get close to nature, bird life and the majestic spruce trees. The charming 10 m2 cabin has everything you need. Inside the cabin there is a lovely double bed that accommodates two, or four if you pull out the bed drawer. The cabin also has a small loft with a ladder, here the children can play or you can relax with a good book. Cook your own food in the cabin's kitchen, or outside on the fire pan. Feel the warmth in the cabin when you fire up the wood stove. The experience of simple life provides room for reflection and tranquility, close to nature. Power for lights and for charging phones etc. (USB plug) from solar panels (12v). The kitchen is equipped with what you need for cooking and eating, and has a gas refrigerator and 2 gas hobs as well as a sink with a water tank above. The wood burning stove also has a hob for heating water/food. On the terrace you can enjoy a cup of coffee and a good breakfast. Close your eyes while you float in the hammock on the terrace and enjoy the sounds of the forest. This is also where you will find the cabin's own small toilet room. Here you will find a bio toilet, and water from a can at the sink. With the cabin's folding door, the outside and the inside room are connected to one, and nature is let into the cabin. Included in the rent is the loan of a rowboat (you share this with several guests in the camp), life jackets and fishing equipment. (in season approx. May–October). In addition, we rent SUP, kayak, ice fishing equipment and snowshoes. NOK 200 per person per activity. Please contact us in advance of your stay for booking. Other things to note Treetop Ekne is located 1 hour north of Trondheim, only 3 km from E6 and 4 km from idyllic Ekne, with its charming marina, Falstad Center and a super cozy convenience store with cafe. Ekne is an area that has a rich bird and wildlife, surrounded by fields, farms and nice hiking trails. In the woods around the cabin you can hear wood pigeons, see squirrels, deer, and follow the trails the moose have made in the woods. You can catch trout on the rod in Byavatnet from a boat. Experiences around the cabin: Take a walk to Svevecampen which is located about 50 meters from the cabin and use the facilities that are there. Here you will find long tables with tarp over, campfire with tarp over, zipline for the little ones, hammock (in season), hammocks and a simple outhouse. Here you can find several hammocks that are for rent in season (summer half year June - September). This camp can be used by all guests in the forest. A small km in steep terrain or 2 km along the facilitated road you will find Byavatnet (A 5 km long freshwater). Here is a jetty with rowing boat, life jackets and fishing equipment at your disposal (in season April - October 15). You can also rent kayaks (3 pieces) and SUP (10 pieces) in season. If you want an introductory course in SUP on site or a SUP trip, we organize it for an additional price. Adapted trails in the area leading to popular hiking destinations. Here it is nice to both walk or use a bicycle. It's fine to cycle into the camp. In winter, there are possibilities for ice fishing and skating on Byavatnet. Skiing near the camp in winter.
