Cozy A-Frame in South Fork
Come enjoy this riverside getaway nestled in the White Mountains region of Arizona! This cozy a-frame cabin is just right for 1 - 2 guests and up to two mature dogs. Situated near the Apache-Sitgreaves National Forest, it's the perfect place to unplug, unwind, and reconnect with nature. South Fork is located between Eagar and Greer, so you have an array of options for dining, shopping, and outdoor recreation. Sunrise Ski Resort is just a short 30-minute drive away! The cabin is two-story and about 1,300 square feet. The first floor has a full kitchen with dining area, living room, bedroom, 3/4 bathroom, and laundry room. The second floor has a spare bedroom, sitting area, full bath, and an adjacent office workspace. There's a porch on the north and east sides of the cabin. The front yard area is fenced and fully enclosed, with doggie door access. (Please note if booking a summertime visit: the cabin does not have central AC; however, there is a portable AC unit in the living room.) Guests have access to the entire cabin, on almost a full acre. The South Fork of the Little Colorado River runs on the east side of the property. (Note - there is a storage shed and unfinished guest house on the property - these are not guest-accessible spaces.) We are available via text, email, or phone and live nearby! South Fork is an ideal getaway spot, in the beautiful valley between Greer and Eagar/Springerville. Locals refer to it as one of the "best kept secrets" in the area. The neighborhood is situated along the South Fork of the Little Colorado River, and among towering ponderosa pines. *Please keep in mind that due to the remoteness of this location, most cell phones will not have coverage. *Please be advised: the roads closest to the cabin are primitive, and can make for challenging driving in the winter or after heavy rainfall. You'll be best able to navigate the gravel and dirt roads in the area with a truck or SUV, but passenger cars can also handle the roads with proper care. PLEASE READ: This is a very remote area - most cell phones won't get service at the cabin, and the Wi-Fi speed is around 5 Mbps. This Wi-Fi speed is sufficient to support Wi-Fi calling (if your device supports this option) and streaming on the TV. We recommend you limit the number of devices connected to the Wi-Fi for optimal performance. There is a landline for incoming calls, and local or toll-free outgoing calls. The road to the cabin is paved for most of the way. However, there are gravel and dirt roads the last mile. These roads are primitive and depending on weather, can be difficult to traverse. For cold-weather stays, please note that the cabin has central heating on the first floor only. There are space heaters available for use upstairs, if desired. For warm-weather stays, please note the cabin does not have central AC. There is a portable, refrigerated AC unit available, portable fans, and 2 ceiling fans on the lower level.
