Captain’s Quarters - Unique home on Corsica River!

The Captains Quarters was built in 1880 by local waterman, Captain John H. Osman. The Captain built 4 identical houses for the Captains of his fleet to enjoy. The Captains Quarters is registered with the Maryland National Historical Trust. This unique and cozy home takes you back in time, all while enjoying all of the modern amenities. Our guests can expect to enjoy coffee on the patio overlooking the Corsica River, games and a bar in the brick floor basement and tons of relaxation! The space Our home has 3 themed levels to enjoy! The Galley Enter into The Galley to find the kitchen, dine at bar, sitting room and laundry closet. We also have a fully stocked coffee bar. The love seat pulls out to a small sleeper sofa. This is where we imagine the crew made their meals and read books to relax maybe with a nice glass of wine. Kracken's Lair Head down the stairs (carefully!) to Kracken's Lair. Where the crew would go for after dinner cocktails and relaxation. Enjoy our bar, games and cozy living area. We imagine quite some fun has been had down here over the years. We think of it as being underground, where the Kracken lurks! The Crow's Nest Make your way all the way up to the Crow's Nest - a light and airy bedroom and full bath to relax and unwind. Find a queen air mattress in the closet if needed. Dimming lantern lights are next to each side of the bed and plenty of towels and extra blankets. ***Important Disclosure Regarding Steep and Narrow Stairs. Please note the following important information regarding the stairs in the house*** Steep and Narrow Stairs: The stairs in our home are original to the building and are both steep, narrow, and winding. Use Caution: We strongly advise all guests to exercise caution when going up and down the stairs to prevent accidents or injuries. Accessibility Concerns: Due to the nature of the stairs, individuals with mobility issues or disabilities should carefully consider this before booking. The stairs may pose a challenge and could be unsafe for those with physical limitations. Your safety is our priority. Guest access The entire home will be for your use! 3 levels, 1 balcony and 1 ground level patio. Other things to note We took our time selecting each piece of decor to stay true to the Captains Quarters history and to bring out its charm. We hope our guests can add new memories to this homes history. Our vision was to update this home with modern amenities, while keeping its unique history alive. We often like to sit and wonder what prior guests were doing over 100 years ago in the same room?!
