Kayaking launch areas are minutes away. NO PETS ALLOWED. We have Bella Built in 1905, second floor apartment built in the 1957 with baseboard heating & window A/Cs. It’s a very comfortable, spacious & open living space. I strive for a 5 ⭐️ rating & to exceed customers expectations, giving them a WOW factor when they arrive. Very serene, peaceful & quiet apartment. Great place to relax & unwind after a busy day touring or visiting nearby friends & relatives. I offer so many different amenities to ensure your stay is the best place you have ever been to. Minutes drive to water, parks & beautiful walking, hiking trails. The almost completed Riverwalk is amazing & few blocks away. Shopping from antiques, boutiques & stores that offer new learning experiences like glass blowing, art studio, gun range & rental of boats. I enjoy meeting & experiencing new people & their cultures though also respect one’s complete privacy. It’s your call with our interpersonal interactions. Complete access to the entire apartment. I strive to have on hand those little things one might forget too. Coffee, tea, creamers, cabinet full of snacks, breakfast foods such as oatmeal, granola bars & quick made foods like soup or noodles if your hungry after just arriving or a long day of touristing. Toiletries, games, toys & up-to date magazines & 2 TVs to keep you either relaxed or entertained. Veterans Park across the street with a gazebo, playground, picnic shelter & clean restrooms. Fox River Walk, currently less than 2 blocks away, when fully completed & will start just on the other side of the park from us! Minutes drive & even 1 to walk to nearby beautiful Illinois State Parks to hike through. McHenry Damn is a sight to see, busiest lock in the USA. Great fishing there too. We allow full access to fully fenced back yard with propane fire-pit, grilling with all needed & outdoor door games, easy access to chairs cushions. We have our dog Bella who is a very loving, child friendly dog. Give me a heads up if you use the backyard (smoking exception) so your privacy in ensured & undisturbed. Your guests are always welcomed to visit while staying here. No need for permission. Contactless, self check-in /out with keypad entry. We are quiet though just a quick text away for any questions, comments or concerns that may arise during your stay here. I have maps & different listings of all the local things to do around town & in the area of the apartment for your convenience. I even have menus of many of the local restaurants. Of course if privacy is what you need I completely understand that as well. We will do our best to keep from interfering with your tranquility. Friendly pedestrian safe city with beautiful neighborhoods, blocks away from downtown restaurants, bars, unique boutique & antique shops and the the just completed 8/2023 Riverwalk stores. Veterans Park across the street with a playground, gazebo, picnic shelter, bathrooms. Every Thursday throughout summer is a Farmers Market, unique vendors, food trucks & live concerts. Globe Lighting, music & fireworks every Saturday evening through late fall. There are events & happenings somewhere just about every day of the year in McHenry. Over 20 churches of a variety of faiths. Too many to count though we have numerous shops & restaurants minutes away by foot. McHenry calendar on Fridge & local guides to help you navigate & to keep you informed. Minutes walk from some of the best that McHenry has to offer with parks, bars, restaurants, Riverwalk. Metra train to get to Chicago & so much more with free city parking scattered around town. 1 hour drive to Chicago, Milwaukee & Rockford. 30 minutes to Lake Geneva. Surrounded by the best of smaller cities/towns as well if you’re unable to find enough to do locally. Sorry no laundry on site but do provide a drying rack that fits nicely in the tub. Whales Wash Laundromat is a 3 minute walk to east past Park St on Riverside Dr. After the Fox resturant/bar just next to it that is a town favorite. (Still under construction though almost completed) The River Walk is 2 blocks away that takes you to Miller Point Park along the Fox River & Boone Creek. Seasonal activities all year long such as Globe Lighting, music & fireworks every Saturday evening, 10 newly built boutique stores presented by The McHenry Chamber of Commerce guiding new entrepreneurs on a yearly basis. FB McHenry Riverwalk Foundation for activities or FB McHenry Riverwalk Shoppes Veterans Park across the street & every Summer Thursday evening offers a Farmers Market, food trucks, vendors offering local craftsmanship, produce & musical outdoor entertainment.(weather permitting) FB Pearl Street Market for updates. I have camping chairs for your use. 7 minute drive to Moraine State park 20 minutes to Chain o’Lakes State park 30 minutes to Lake Geneva 40 mins. to Woodfield Mall 1 hour to Chicago ( plus easy access train to get there) Train to downtown Chicago, 1/2 mi to McHenry station (free parking) or minutes to Pingree Station, Crystal Lake for better service hours. 1 hour to Milwaukee Wisconsin. Great museums & festivals 1 hour drive to Rockford, IL. Beautiful riverfront walking, Japanese & botanical garden plus what I think is the BEST Children’s museum around. There are so many seasonal activities throughout the year in town. I keep a calendar on the fridge & McHenry Guidebook plus other helpful aides for information about different happenings around town.
