Charming, light filled home in a quiet street just off the shopping and restaurant strip - Victoria Street. Guest access Guests may access shared living spaces and use (with care) kitchen facilities such as microwave, toaster, jug. I can explain how to use the induction cooktop if required. Guests share bathroom, gardens, lounge room and laundry with me. Tea, coffee and basic breakfast makings are provided. There are 2 toilets - one in the bathroom, the other outside, beside the laundry. During your stay I know my city well and enjoy being so close to the Yarra River, its bush and parkland, as well as the city. I can share details of my favourite places and have lots of information about nearby neighbourhoods, public transport, maps, walks and day trips from Melbourne. I can tell you where to find the best Pho, suggest restaurants, shopping highlights, coffee shops and galleries. There are wonderful bush escapes nearby along the river and the nearby cultural gem, the Abbotsford Convent, always has food, music and art. Just ask if you have special interests. Other things to note This is a brilliant base. A walk in every direction will lead you into neighbouring suburbs of Collingwood, Richmond, Fitzroy, along the river and into leafy Kew. I walk into the city in 30 mins but public transport is excellent. It can take you directly into the city, to the sporting arenas, or to the beach suburbs of St Kilda, South and Port Melbourne and Docklands. Information about excursions provided.
