Great Lake cabin, secluded, modern with stunning lake views. Tods Corner Central Plateau Stunning north facing views of the Great Lake and the distant peaks of the Walls of Jerusalem National Park, this modern cabin is the perfect place for a secluded wilderness escape. Set among native trees, it is a place to relax, reset and revive. Relax on the deck with a glass of wine, watch the sunset over the glorious Great Lake or curl up on the couch with a cup of tea in front of a roaring fire. The space The Cabin has a modern open plan living area with a full kitchen. The kitchen is well supplied with crockery and utensils and a basic stocked pantry that includes coffee bags, tea, salt, pepper, oil, flour, rice, pasta and dried herbs. The water is tank water from rain captured from the roof. We drink the water straight from the tap, but if you prefer you can boil it in the kettle first or bring your own . We have cozy seating in the living room, with reclining chairs, a TV and board games. There are 2 bedrooms, both with queen beds and built-in wardrobes. Down a hallway is the bathroom which includes a laundry and there is a separate toilet. All the linen is new and there are loads of blankets to snuggle up with. The cabin is situated at Tod’s Corner in Miena. Which is one of the premier bays on the Great Lake and plays host to some magnificent fishing. Tod’s Corner is only 10 minutes from the Great Lake Lodge and Hotel (both with bars and restaurants) and only a short drive to dozens of world class trout fisheries. The cabin sits on an elevated block which is accessed by a sloped internal gravel driveway. The drive into Tod’s Corner is not sealed but is well maintained and accessible by car. A 4-wheel drive is recommended but not essential. The destination is well worth the adventure! The Cabin is quiet and away from main roads and is situated on a private block where you can only glimpse your neighbours. Access is via a key lock box and chained entrance located at the bottom of the private driveway. Guest access Guests will have exclusive access to the cabin and there are multiple places to park. Other things to note The drive to Miena is about 1:30hr from Launceston and about 1:45hr from Hobart and 1.40hr from Devonport. Miena is a small and remote town. There is no public transport and guests need to have a car. Guests will have exclusive access to the cabin and there are multiple places to park. Although there are hotels and a small general store located approximately 10-15 km from the cabin, it is advised that you bring your groceries and any supplies with you! The nearest big supermarkets are one hour away in Deloraine and Longford. Phone service can be limited in parts of the Central Highlands area, however, can be accessed at the cabin (although can be temperamental at times). The average temperatures for Miena are: - Dec to Feb (summer) 4°C to 16°C - Mar to May (autumn) 0°C to 14°C - Jun to Aug (winter) -2°C to 5°C (snow) - Sep to Nov (spring) 0°C to 12°C Thank you for considering our cabin, this is the first time we have been involved in renting and we are both nervous and excited.
