Description
Imagine a slower, simpler, more serene place and time. A place set between emerald green rice fields and an endless sandy beach. An unhurried time of the past, when family and friends sat, talked, ate and drank on traditional tatami, or under the stars, with the faint sound of waves crashing rhythmically in the background. This is what you’ll find at Grandma’s House, a tastefully preserved mid-twentieth century cottage five minutes on foot from Toyoumi Beach in Kujukuri town. The space The house features an eight-tatami room and a ten-tatami room, separated by sliding doors. The ten-tatami room has a TV, low table, and four zaisu chairs. The eight-tatami room is typically used as the bedroom and can accommodate up to four futons. The kitchen is equipped with a system kitchen (gas), a freezer/refrigerator, a coffee maker (Nespresso), a kettle, a toaster, a microwave, cooking utensils and tableware, and a dining table and chairs. There is free Wi-Fi, and the TV is fitted with a Chromecast device. It is a very quiet space, well suited for remote work. Guest access Grandma's House is a private house, limited to one group per day. The hosts live next door and greet guests at check in, explaining all features of the room and area. Self check-in is also available, particularly for guests arriving outside of normal check-in hours. Guests are asked to please give the hosts advance notice if self check-in is preferred. A spacious, lighted deck at the back of the property is also included exclusively for guests’ use.
