Garden Retreat

We are truly opening our family home to your family in this spacious, comfortable house. Your family will be close to the downtown area when you stay at this centrally-located home. This two story house with a fully equiped kitchen features four large bedrooms and beautiful front and back yards. There is a front porch and upstairs porch on which to enjoy the warm San Cristóbal sun. On those cool evenings, the living room fireplace creates a cozy space in which to relax as a family. The space This is a large house with both a front and back yard with beautiful flower gardens for your enjoyment. It has one covered garage space and enough parking for at least one more car so that your vehicles can be parked off the street. Downstairs you will enter into a small foyer which has a staircase to upstairs and a door into the living room as well as a hallway to the kitchen. The living room has a fireplace for those chilly evenings in the winter as well as a smart TV for your entertainment. The dining room is off the living room and opens into the kitchen. The kitchen and dining room spaces are divided by a counter with spaces for three people to sit on stools. The dining room table comfortably sits six people; however, there is an additional table in this area that may be added to the main table for more seating. The kitchen is fully equipped with a gas stove, fridge, microwave, blender, coffee maker, pots, pans, plastic storage ware, and place settings for ten people including plates, glasses, mugs, and silverware. There are also some basic food items such as salt, sugar, and a few spices. There is a backdoor off the dining room which leads to the backyard and it's lovely to prop the door open during the day for extra light and warmth from the sun. Downstairs there is also a half-bath off the hallway. When you go up the stairs, you will find a small landing area that leads to the four bedrooms and one full bathroom. There is a master bedroom with a double bed and it's own private bathroom. It also has a door leading out to the upper front porch area. There is also a bedroom with two twin beds, a bedroom with another double bed, and a bedroom with a king-size bed. All the bedrooms have large closets for your use and the bedroom with the king-size bed has a door leading out to the porch/laundry area with a washer and clotheslines if you would like to use them. The house is equipped with Wifi; however, because of the concrete structure, the Wifi does not always reach the north bedrooms upstairs with a strong signal. It reaches all other areas in the house well. Our area of town still has the older copper internet cables rather than fiber optics because of this the internet is not very fast. It is perfectly adequate for most guests (Zoom calls, streaming, web searches, etc.) but is something to consider if you work remotely and must have high speed internet. There is a portable crib available if needed by guests; please ask so that we can have this set up for you. Also, there are two-floor mattresses and sleeping bags which extra guests are welcome to use. There is an additional guest fee for more than eight guests. Guest access You will have use of all the space in the house except for an office which we keep locked for storage of our personal items. You may use the garage, the front garden, and the back yard up until the bushes which divide the yard from a small apartment in the very back of the property. The apartment is for our occasional use only and has its own private street entrance. Other things to note Our home is located on a quaint cobblestone street within walking distance of downtown and two market areas, as well as numerous restaurants. We will provide basic necessities (hand soap, toilet paper, etc.) to get guests started. When the quantity we have left runs out, it is guests responsibility to purchase themselves more. We are not a hotel and yet we strive to meet your needs within reason.
