Cozy cottage in southern Årefjällen

Our cozy cottage in Edsåsen is a comfortable place to stay for two, 35 sqm. You will be staying at the foot of Renfjället. From the plot, you have a view of the mountain landscape. The starting point is perfect for hiking in the mountains around, regardless of the season. You are never far from skiing, alpine skiing, hiking, biking, paddling or fishing. By car, you can get to Undersåker or Edsåsdalen in 5 minutes. Trillevallen in 10 minutes. To Åre it takes 20 minutes and Vålådalen is reached in 30 minutes. The space The cottage is from 1995, about 35 square meters on one level. From 2023, it is newly decorated and refreshed. All with a view to a comfortable accommodation for up to two people. Sunny porch at the entrance. The hall has space for outerwear, cleaning equipment and a washing machine with a combined dryer. A door leads into the bathroom with toilet, sink and shower with a smaller water heater. Opening from the hall to the living room with dining area, sofa, smart TV with G-play, radio and wood-burning fireplace. The sofa does not a sofa bed. From the living room, you can reach the small kitchen with a new combined fridge and freezer, new fan, stove with oven and sink, garbage sorting. From the living room, you can reach the bedroom with a new double bed of 140 cm (queen size). Two wardrobes and a smaller workspace are at your disposal. Bed linen and towels are always included. We welcome you with 1 dog in company. The dog is not allowed in the bed or on other furniture. Cats and other pets must stay at home. You have a parking space at your disposal. You have access to WiFi. The house is heated with an air heat pump that can also provide comfortable cooling with A/C. You control the pump with the remote control that is in the cabin. A wood-burning stove also provides pleasant warmth and comfort. There are heating elements in the bathroom and in the kitchen. Smoking is not permitted. Cleaning is not included in the rent, but our guests clean thoroughly by our guests themselves. Cleaning can be booked separately by agreement, preferably at the time of booking and at a cost. Guest access You have the house to yourself. On the same lot, in the house next door, you have your host on-site. There is a dog in the host's house. The house includes a parking space. Other things to note Cleaning is not included in the rent, but our guests clean thoroughly themselves. Cleaning equipment and instructions for cleaning are available in the cabin. If you want to leave the cleaning to us, this is done by agreement and for a fee. The cost is SEK 800 for a stay of up to 4 days. After that, it costs SEK 1200 regardless of how long you have stayed. You must inquire about cleaning well in advance, preferably at the time of booking. If cleaning is not performed, the above fees will be charged with a surcharge of 100 percent. Please respect that our cottage is adapted for up to two people and does not allow more overnight stays. If you need to shop, the nearest grocery store is in Undersåker. ICA Strandbergs is a smaller store but well-stocked store and has very helpful staff. There is a charcoal grill next to the stairs. A wood stove in the living room that provides cozy warmth and atmosphere. Barbecue charcoal and firewood can be purchased at ICA in Undersåker. Firewood is also, usually, for sale along the roads in Jämtland. The nearest outdoor shop and ski rental can be found at the exit to Undersåker and further into the valley is Edsåsdalens Sportbod. Directly adjacent to the plot, you can reach hiking and skiing trails (unprepared) towards Edsåsdalen and Renfjället. By car, you are at prepared trails and tracks in 5 minutes, in Edsåsdalen. In summer, you can hike directly out into the mountains. We often go up to Renfjället to eat and have coffee at the café and restaurant Vita Renen. It's a nice hike all seasons. Start from Köjan or the longer walk directly from the cottage. Another of our favorites during the winter is the Älgbergsrundan. See also the guide to trails and paths in Södra Årefjällen. In summertime, a trip up the mountains Lillvalen, Renfjället, Grofjället or Välliste is recommended. Hiking to Isjödalen, Pyramiderna and Blanktjärn is something we highly recommend. Don't miss Jämtland's food crafts! It's one of the reasons we love this part of Sweden. Very good, cooked and prepared with love and care. Fishing in the area is very good. Moose, fox and reindeer are plentiful. Arranged tours with dog sleds and snowmobiles are available. Cycling is big in Åre and there are companies with rentals, service and guiding. Kayak, canoe and boat rentals can be found. Places where you can find this can be Edsåsdalen, Vålådålen, Ottsjö, Trillevallen and Åre.
