The Coach House
The Coach House
Description
The Coach House is in the grounds of a 17th Century former cherry farm a short walk from the beautiful Golden Valley, Castlemorton Common and the Malvern Hills. Just behind lies Hollybed Meadows, a 42 acre nature reserve, bought by Worcestershire Wildlife Trust to celebrate the 60th Anniversary of the Coronation of Elizabeth II, restoring ancient orchards and wildlife. Within 10 minutes you can be walking Hollybed Meadows and the Malvern Hills and enjoying lovely far-reaching views and scenery. The space The Coach House is a converted 17C barn on two floors. There is a king size bed and bathroom (shower only, no bath) upstairs and kitchen and breakfast/sitting room downstairs. The sofa is in the sitting room downstairs & converts to a double sofa bed (extra charge of £40) suitable for older children or a teenager - they would need to share the upstairs shower room. Guest access All parts of the Coach House are for your use including a small outdoor table & chairs and parasol also for you. The area outside the cottage is not enclosed so you would need to supervise any dog Other things to note Please be aware that out here in the country there is patchy mobile signal and you may need to use wifi calling to make phone calls while staying in the Coach House. Our wifi does drop out from time to time but it’s usually just a case of resetting it by switching off & on again - we will show you how or happily do this for you The Coach House is 300 years old and was part of the farm, and was built with old oak beams, brick and stone, so there is lots of wildlife including birds, butterflies, ladybirds, bees and owls which you will hear calling at night and you may see wild rabbits playing in the meadow behind the house. There are bats, foxes, rabbits, hedgehogs, hares and muntjac deer close by too if you are very lucky! 😀 WARNING: due to the nature of 17th Century construction there is a low beam upstairs in the Coach House running right across the room at head height so please do be extra mindful of this & take care not to bang your head if you are over about 1m 65 (5’5) Please also note there is a sofa bed in the downstairs sitting room. It’s a small double sofa bed and as this is fitted with the usual thin folding mattress we provide a soft mattress topper that fits over for your comfort. Please let me know if you would like to use this, there is an extra charge of £25 for use of the sofa bed There is no bathroom or toilet downstairs so anyone using the sofa bed needs to share the ensuite shower room upstairs Patio: there is a small area next to the front door with 2 outdoor chairs & a table & parasol for you to sit outside if you wish, this is not enclosed so dogs need to be supervised
