This historic and spacious house is the last on a tranquil cul-de-sac, which overlooks the rainforest, making it an ideal location for birders and lovers of nature. This house has a centric location in the township of Gamboa; it is a seven-minute walk away from the only convenience store and only a 2km walk away from the entrance of Pipeline Road! Large screen windows keep the house well ventilated, naturally lit, and keep the mosquitoes out! Our historic house: The location of the house paired with its architectural designs allow the sounds of the tropical rainforest to infiltrate the house. Our historic house: has a great patio with patio furniture, a hammock, and charcoal grill all of which look out onto the rainforest. This house is an architectural paradigm a topical Canal Zone house. Built by the US Corp of Engineers, the house's design optimizes large screened windows and huge overhanging eves to create cool cross ventilation breezes; these architectural elements keep the house at a cool temperature without the need of A/C. This beautiful house stands on stilts--a common feature of tropical architecture. This elevated nature has several effects: decreases humidity, increases airflow, and decreases noxious bugs like mosquitoes. This house is embedded in nature, so you will encounter it in all of its glory, which includes insects that may make it into the house! Our house has three spacious bed rooms and two bathrooms. The living room has ample space to relax and spread out in; it has thirteen screened windows that allow for great airflow and have views of the tropical rainforest. Seeing as food options in Gamboa are very limited, the kitchen is well equipped with different cooking appliances. The house has a patio with a charcoal grill that looks onto the garden and is a great place to have an afternoon drink and watch for birds and other wildlife. Entire house Lock box Everything in Gamboa is within walking distance! Getting to Gamboa needs a little planning. Gamboa is: • 25 km outside of Panama City • 51 km away from Tocumen International Airport • 27 km away from the Albrook Bus terminal Transportation from Tocumen International Airport to Gamboa is limited to rental cars, taxis, and Ubers. The Bus system does not make it to the airport. The coast of Uber and taxis fluctuate, costing anywhere between $32 to $60. Uber tends to be the cheaper option between the two. The bus system that runs to and from Gamboa is the SACA bus. The main bus terminal is the Albrook bus terminal. There are various bus stops along Ave Omar Torrijos Herrera, which is the bus route from Albrook to Gamboa. Important: ** Ubers run to Gamboa, but it is very difficult to get an Uber out of Gamboa. **Renting a car is the most flexible option, but the SACA bus is by far the cheapest option. ** If possible avoid rush hour in Panama. Morning rush hour is between 7:00 am to 9:00 am. Afternoon rush hour is between 4:00 pm and 8:00 pm.
