An enchanted studio in leafy garden with private entrance in excellent north Berkeley location. Stroll to Solano shops, gourmet ghetto, UC Berkeley campus, Live Oak park, the Rose Garden and more. We live in a quiet residential neighborhood. Guests have exclusive use of our Studio, but will at times be sharing the back garden and patio with one other family member - our cattle dog. She is a very affectionate dog who is now in her ninth year, and loves to sit and sun herself in the garden and on the patio (when she is not chasing squirrels!). No other guests (or family members!) have use of the back patio during your stay. Guests can access the studio (sole use), the garden and patio (shared with our Cattle Dog during daylight hours). Guests are welcome to use our laundry by arrangement - please message us if you need to use our washing machine and tumble dryer, in the main home. This is free of charge and we provide laundry detergent. Our home is in a quiet residential neigbourhood - many homes on this street (like ours) were built in the 1920s. There are several lovely parks nearby and a public, open air swimming pool (open at different times for lap swimming in the Fall and Spring) is about 10 - 15 minutes walk. Local attractions include the Thursday Farmers Market, from 4-7pm, a 10 minute walk from our place; the Gourmet Ghetto; Solano avenue to the North, and Monterey Markets and a lovely row of shops to the west. We are very close to two main bus lines into downtown Berkeley (Southbound) and to Albany (Northbound) on the #7 and #18 lines. The #18 bus goes through downtown Berkeley, to the BART and Univeresity Campus, and to downtown Oakland; #7 will take you as far as campus and BART downtown. We are also very close to the F line which is a commuter bus - very nice! - into SFO, but runs only early morning and evening. Our home is a 20-30 minute walk (depending on your pace!) to campus and downtown Berkeley. Hi we are looking forward to hosting you. The studio will be available from 3pm and when you arrive at our home please make your way to the right side of the house to your private entrance. Go through the wooden gate, which has a sign on it, 'dog in yard', (Sheila our 10 year old cattle dog will be in the main dwelling and wont bother you), then make your way up the stairs to the studio. The keys will be on the table and the WIFI code next to the modem. While we are hosting AirBnB guests in our home, we leave our garbage/trash, recycling and compost bins in front of our garage on the street. Compostable materials (fast food and pizza boxes, banana peel etc) in the Green Bin; Recyclyables (glassware, soda cans, and paper cardboard/boxes) in the Blue Bin, and landfill in the Grey bin. Safe travels in the meantime and see you soon, peter and penny.
