Private couples cabin near Big Bend
Private couples cabin near Big Bend
Description
Off grid and eco-friendly, yet only 7 miles from Big Bend National Park, our glass front casitas are the perfect place for you or your group to unplug, unwind, and reconnect to what matters. Your space and privacy are our number one goal, so the three cabins are adequately spaced with unobstructed mountain views to the north, east and south, and sunset views deep into Mexico to the west, with no other dwellings in site! The space This adorable cabin sits on an elevated deck with large covered porch and outdoor camp kitchen with plenty of room for coolers and gear. We provide a mini fridge, gas grill, gas stove, drinking water, cooking and eating utensils, and a coffee and tea bar, but you will want to bring your own cooking oils and spices. We are an off-grid property, but you'll camp in comfort with insulated walls and windows, air conditioning, radiant heating, plush linens and dish service...because camp cooking is fun, camp dish duty is not. Inside you'll find a queen bed with down comforter, chairs, luggage rack and a small buffet. Outside on the covered porch, you'll cook meals camp style on the Carolina Cooker propane stove with cast iron cookware, or fire up the new gas grill and then step over to the fire pit for smores under the moonlight...howling is encouraged. We can provide quality firewood for an additional fee. We are in a designated dark sky area with some of the brightest stargazing in the lower 48, so all lighting is minimal. We have ample solar lighting inside the cabin and under the porch, but we recommend headlamps for outdoor excursions. Medina has spotlessly clean composting toilet a short walk from the porch, and has access to the community outdoor shower. Water is a scarce and expensive commodity for desert communities, so please help us cut down on usage by keeping shower times to a minimum and bringing your own shower towels. We're not trying to be a glamping resort, we just want to give you or your group the privacy, comfort and space you deserve, so check our reviews and book now as these go fast! Please remember that these cabins are off-grid. They are on shared solar power, and all water is hauled onto site, so please help is conserve these precious resources by keeping power and water use to a minimum. Guest access The casitas are 1/4 mile off the highway on a maintained dirt road and assessable by any passenger vehicle. High clearance or 4WD is not necessary. *Please note: As with most properties on dirt roads in the area, heavy rains can render the roads impassable for hours to days. We have a dry creek crossing that can flash flood, but it is usually cleared up within hours after the rain. Luckily, our booking season does not coincide with the rainy season, so heavy rains during travel season are rare, but can happen. If there is moderate rain, we ask that guests hunker down until it has passed. If we anticipate severe rain during your stay, we will reach out to discuss options before you arrive. Other things to note Please contact us if you have a large group or event and would like to book the entire property. We are an off-grid desert property, and cabins are on solar power, so realistic expectations are important. Our amenities are high quality and comfortable, but they are limited, so some of the comforts of home or other resorts are not available. All water is hauled onto site, so if long showers and a curated hotel or glamping experience are your cup of tea, we get it, there are other grid-tied options nearby! Our goal is to provide you with an experience we like to call “comfort camping.” A little bit of luxury and lot of space and privacy. To insure this, we only have 5 sites on 160 acres. But we also live on site, so we’re always only a text or call away! What we provide: Inside Queen bed with down comforter and linens.
