This mountainside cabin is perfect for anyone looking for a peaceful retreat in a private, safe, and uncongested neighborhood of homes not far from Wildcat Lake and downtown Banner Elk. Located on 3 acres @ 4400ft elevation, it provides premium privacy. Just 5 minutes from Wildcat Lake, 8 minutes from Banner Elk, 12 minutes from both Sugar Mountain and Beech ski resorts, 20 minutes to Grandfather and Hawksnest, 30 minutes to Boone, and 40 minutes to Blowing Rock. Guest access Guests have access to the entire property. Other things to note The cabin is located off of a private road that takes you to the top. It's pretty isolated so you can imagine the road is gravel and somewhat steep in places. Regardless, I have made it to the top in my standard 2-wheel drive car. However, I strongly recommend 4-wheel or all-wheel drive if you have it. During the winter months, the weather can be somewhat unpredictable. If snow is forecast during your time there, having tire chains is highly recommended. I recommend buying chains from Amazon a few weeks prior to your trip and having them with you, just in case. Otherwise, the price of chains locally could be much more than you would spend at Amazon. If you don't need them, Amazon is also a much easier place to return unused items. Just a suggestion.
