Carmen's House - Moon Apartment, Madalena do Mar

Carmen's House is located in one of the hottest and most beautiful locations on the island of Madeira: Madalena do Mar. A short distance from the beach, the house offers stunning views of the sea and the banana plantations that stretch across the mountain. The space Carmen's House – Moon Apartment is one of the two apartments that make up the first floor of Carmen's House: it has a bedroom with a double bed, a bathroom, and an open space kitchen and living room. The outer space of this unit consists of two balconies: one of them, accessible from the double bedroom, offers a privileged view over the sea front of Madalena do Mar; the other, connected to the living room, is perfect for enjoying the sunset, accompanied by the sound of the waves of the sea. Carmen's House is divided into three autonomous units: on the ground floor is the Ground Floor Apartment and, on the floor above, Moon Apartment and Sun Apartment. The entrance gate to the property is common to all guests, as is the washing machine. Access to the Moon Apartment and the Sun Apartment is via four flights of stairs. Given the nature of the building — a traditional house divided into three apartments — you may occasionally hear sounds from other guests in the neighboring units. We always do our best to ensure everyone's comfort and tranquility, and we also count on mutual understanding and respect, so that each stay is as pleasant as possible. For this reason, parties or behavior that disturbs the peace and well-being of neighbors and other guests are not allowed, especially between 10:00 p.m. and 8:00 a.m., when noise is strictly prohibited. The house features free wifi and towels and bed linen are provided, among other amenities that can be consulted in more detail in the "Amenities" tab of this listing. It is possible to find a large free parking lot right in front of the property, where our guests can leave their rental car. Guest access Check-in at Carmen's House is always in person and done by me - hello, I'm Melissa! I speak Portuguese and English and I am happy to help our guests settle in comfortably, clarifying any questions or doubts they may have, so that they can make the most of their stay. Other things to note The nearest supermarket to Carmen's House, “Amanhecer”, is located in the neighboring town (Ponta do Sol), about 5 minutes away by car. Unfortunately, the public transport network in Madalena do Mar is very poorly developed, so it is recommended that all our guests choose to rent a car, so they can move freely and without constraints throughout the island. The municipality of Ponta do Sol — which includes Madalena do Mar — applies a municipal tourist tax of €2 per person per night, up to a limit of 7 nights.
