Description

A nature retreat in the wilds of the Olympics. Located on 3 private acres where the 💫 gazing is amazing on a clear night. You will find it tranquil here, where the property owner values your privacy and a creek in the backyard is a wildlife highway. Your private suite has a porch, hot tub, Blackstone grill, kitchenette, custom shower, and atmospheric lighting. We are an eco-conscious, nature loving property that is a waypoint for discovering our northwest treasures, making special memories. The space The Snuggery at Nature's Nest is a self-contained, cozy getaway with a private entrance off your own south facing, covered deck. Created with simplicity in mind and using recycled material when available, you’ll find all that you need to relax and enjoy in comfort and style. While this cozy space is attached to the main house, rest assured that the house will not be occupied during your stay to ensure your privacy. Nature's Nest has been my haven for 15 years, and I’m looking forward to sharing it with you. 3+ acres sits above Dempsey Creek, a Salt Creek tributary. Come get comfy after enjoying all that the Olympic Peninsula has to offer. The winter months with quiet, solitude and serene beauty are an excellent and special time to enjoy the west end. The crowds are down but the nature is spectacular! You’ll find Nature’s Nest to be a perfect location to reconnect with your loved one!!! 🩷 Our newest addition is a relaxing hot tub available at any time of day or night currently special for the winter season. Now through May! In the evening you will be surrounded by nature and atmospheric lighting, all within a very short walk from your porch. While your ideal vacation might be hiking or biking the Adventure Trail, mushroom hunting, waterfall viewing, checking out Port Angeles with its antique shops, new Field Hall Event Center and numerous excellent restaurants, or maybe catching waves at our local surf breaks, checking out the tidepools at Salt Creek and enjoying the sounds and sights of pure nature while cozied up with your loved one. Grab your summer getaway and enjoy the serene beauty of the area while having access to all the creature comforts. With your choice of a hot tub, wood fueled, or propane fire pit and a clear sky, you can enjoy a cozy night of star viewing and memory making. Primitive trails and seating areas can be found creek side for those with a sense of adventure, wanting to be in nature. Enjoy a meal at our custom picnic table made from recycled barn wood, surrounded by majestic greenery. There is a Blackstone grill for your outdoor cooking adventures! The sound of the creek can be heard seasonally from your porch, and our local Elk herd frequent the property along with other wildlife. A seasonal organic garden is in view. A secondary unit in a converted vintage bus is also available on the property seasonally . Click on owner profile to view. It is available for two people. 5G internet for all your staying in touch needs while surrounded by tall trees 🌲😁 There is a level 2, 48 amp Plug and Play EV charger on site for your use. Please notify us before you arrive to ensure that the area is open and available! ⚡️ Guest access Guests are welcome to come around the backside of my personal home ( not occupied during your stay) to your private deck. There you can enter your dwelling using the key code. You are also welcome to walk up the hill and using any one of our primitive trails, explore the ravine and Dempsey creek. There is a fire pit and picnic table at the top of the hill for your stargazing enjoyment, firewood by donation. While guests are welcome to book additional services through Airbnb, including third-party providers, any such bookings must be communicated and confirmed with the host prior to check in. Other things to note The Snuggery is not only a comfortable get away it also has a few elements that I’d like to share. It was designed to be simplistic and easy on the environment. Our soaps and body products as well as laundry detergents are fragrance, dye and sulfate free and easy on the septic system and your senses. The room does not have a tv but we do have Wifi, books and binoculares for bird watching. We also have a lovely fire pit on top of the hill with firewood available by donation to help with your evening ambience and star watching pleasure available as local fire bans permit.🔥 ✨ We recycle here. If you could be so kind as to separate out your plastics, glass and cardboard into the recycling bin provided we’d love you for it. Also there is a compost bin under the sink for your food scraps. Less waste, smaller footprint. Pour over organic, dark roast, Peet’s coffee, unrefined organic sugar, organic teas and Native honey are provided as well as organic oatmeal for your lazy morning or your quick fueling before you get out and enjoy an adventure. There is a Blackstone propane grill on your covered porch should you choose to chef it up. We use red lighting on the outside of our dwellings as this light spectrum does not strongly interfere with the wildlife, our circadian rhythm, our night vision or attract bugs. Great star viewing on clear nights! Your well-behaved dogs our welcome here. Please do not leave them unattended as they want to be with you and we would ask that you use our biodegradable poop bags to clean up after them. We keep a small flock of chickens on the far side of the property and for that reason and your likelihood of seeing wildlife please have command over your friend or use a leash. *We would like to note that this is very cozy space, 207sf. So please keep in mind that once you store your luggage and get settled in, moving around space for your furry friend may be limited. If you walk past the garden to the top of the hill you will find several primitive trailheads that lead down into the creek ravine. Please use at your own risk and wear suitable shoes as depending on the time of year the trail can be slippery or made wonky with elk movement. There is a guidance sheet for use of the hot tub in the room. There are also two comfy robes for you that you may want to wear on the short walk to your soak. There is a post with hooks to hang your robes. Interactions with guests: While Adventurer and nature cover myself, I may be absent from the property. If I’m home I will value privacy and I do not spend time inside the main house from 6pm -10am and will do my best to avoid all activity near your space if I see your car present. It’s so rare these days for many to have space to themselves and this property affords this privilege. No neighbors in sight. My friend Michael may be around at times as it takes two to keep up this magical place. He too is quite knowledgeable about the area and an adventurer at his core. You may see one or both of us being stewards of the property or you may have it to yourself. Of course should you see us, feel free to approach. We are super friendly, knowledgeable about the area and willing to chat you up but on your terms, my cohost and neighbor Susan will be available through the platform and is a short drive away, should you have questions or concerns.
