So what do we do to offer you sustainable yet luxurious vacations? "Made in Germany" is a way of life for us as a craft family. The furniture is – wherever possible – made of local woods and natural materials designed and manufactured by us. We try to avoid plastics as much as possible. Even the "Muggnbatscher" (fly swatter) is made of wood and leather instead of plastic. The general furnishings of the apartments are always from regional or German production with high quality standards and long durability. Yes, there is air conditioning in both bedrooms! It sounds like a contradiction, but it's not. Because at those times when the air conditioning is needed, we have a lot of Franconian sun and our photovoltaic systems then supply more than enough electricity! We now produce and store almost twice as much electricity here around the year as we ourselves consume. Solar thermal energy also heats our water with solar energy. Charging stations for electric vehicles: Our wallbox is always available to you with two connections for charging, for cars and bikes. Waste separation for recycling: Separate containers for plastic, paper, glass, organic and residual waste are available both in the apartments and in the carport. Smart energy saving: We work everywhere in the houses with energy-saving LED lighting technology and general paths are equipped with motion detectors so that no light burns longer than necessary. Opening windows will automatically turn off the heating. Heating with infrared panels: This also works with electricity here. Targeted where you need heat, it makes it cuddly warm in an ecological way, at lower room temperatures than with conventional convection heaters. Smart water saving: Water-saving toilet flushes have been installed here since time immemorial. The showers are large and modern, but do not have an oversized water flow. Garden and swimming pond are supplied with large cisterns of rainwater. Swimming pond: A real biotope with crystal clear, natural water. Cleaned with gravel, reed and biofilters. Nutrients are consumed by the water lilies and underwater plants. Here dragonflies, water runners and many insects feel comfortable. The swallows come several times a day in the summer to dive in and drink water. Now and then, salamanders, toads or a frog also feel comfortable here. Frogs, if you croak very loudly at night, we kindly recommend a nearby body of water where many of your kind are staying... Natural garden: Of course – who would have thought – we generally prefer native plants. The grass around the swimming pond is kept short by an electric mowing robot – during the day, of course, so that nocturnal animals do not get into danger. The short grass is important so that you do not come into contact with ticks when dreaming in the meadow. On the other hand, we also have real meadows, which are traditionally mowed only twice a year and thus provide the bees with a welcome menu. Untouched hedges, cairns and dead wood as a refuge for many small wild animals can also be found here. Again and again the majestic kites and buzzards circle above us, a pair of hawks usually breeds in the immediate vicinity in the crowns of tall trees. Even bats feel at home with us. Sometimes you can see them scurrying by at dusk. Refillable cosmetics: With shower gel and soap, we always experiment with different, environmentally friendly products to avoid small disposable plastic bottles. Soda streamers for sparkling tap water are available in all apartments. Ecological cleaning and washing: With our ecological cleaning agent, we can fertilize the plants after work with the cleaning water, no joke! We also use disinfectants, but only where they are really needed. And then only in such a way that they do not harm the sensitive bacteria in our own sewage treatment plant. So that they can continue to do their work for clean wastewater from our vacation resort. Regional products: When packing your welcome box, we prefer regional suppliers, buy in large containers and distribute in small, reusable containers to avoid packaging and to avoid wasting food as much as possible. On site, you will get one or two tips for special, regional delicacies and for regional partners with whom we like to work. The breakfast rolls hang in a cloth bag on your apartment door in the morning. Regional artists always get a podium with us, be it for art exhibitions or small sessions. And there are always new, environmentally friendly solutions! Living and working sustainably has always been a matter of the heart for us as a carpenter family with now three grown children and a first grandchild, not just since the climate crisis and rising energy prices have been discussed. But in everyday life, here in the village, where public transport does not arrive, electric vehicles have been part of our household for several years. And yes, quite honestly, we are quite a little proud of our vacation homes here in the middle of the Haßberge Nature Park. That we have been able to offer so many enthusiastic guests such a great time and continue to do so. And that with our work we can strengthen and promote this region, which is still unknown to many.
