The space Sea La Vie is an ideal stay for great views and good vibes. With a boho coastal feel and intimate location, it’s the perfect place to claim your balance. This one bedroom / one bath (queen size bed) is located on the north side of the island away from the hustle and bustle of downtown, lush native flora lines the pathway to this secluded cottage. Inside, you’ll find comfortable accommodations and windows to awe-inspiring views. The balcony provides a breathtaking vantage point for taking in the island’s rolling hills, Inner and Outer Brass keys, Hull Bay beach, and the expanse of the Atlantic. Watch boats come and go and keep an eye out for surfers on the waves. Enjoy meals outside in the balcony’s breakfast nook, or on a barstool at the kitchen counter. Depending on the season, you may notice guavaberries, mangos, guavas, soursops, passionfruits or sugar apples ripening on the trees in the yard. No matter the time of year, you’ll likely meet our free-range chickens as well as our dog, Coconut, and our pig, Pirate. Your hosts live just down the hill, and our friendly animals roam the property freely. This little hideaway is tucked into the hillside above Hull Bay. Known simply as “Hull” by most locals, people visit the beach for its snorkeling, restaurants, boat launch, and the surfing on St. Thomas. Head down to enjoy the sun, sand, and fresh catches by local fishermen. (If you get in the water, be sure to use reef-safe sunscreen to protect our reefs.) Then, head back up the hill at sunset to unwind to the sound of the waves crashing below. Alternatively, rent a car to explore all the island has to offer. The surrounding neighborhood is home to families of all kinds. Many are involved in the local fishing and farming communities and have been living and working together for generations. It isn’t uncommon for passing vehicles to stop in the middle of the road, briefly blocking traffic to exchange hellos and updates before continuing on. If you’re used to a fast pace, pack your patience. The unhurried traffic, checkout lines, and customer service of St. Thomas surprise many visitors. Life moves slower on island time. You’re more likely to have fun if you go with the flow and remember to greet others with the customary ‘good morning’, ‘good afternoon’, or ‘good night’ (depending on the time of day) at the beginning of each interaction.
