Other considerations about the neighborhood: Massanutten Community Rules The following community rules are, by design, intended to allow for your quiet enjoyment as well as our neighbors. Massanutten Village is not only a resort, but also a community and most homes are occupied by full time residents. Violations of these rules may result in tickets/fines issued by the police and if repeated or egregious, immediate eviction from the property and community, without refund. In addition to all federal, state and local laws, the following community rules are to be followed at all times. There are required of all owners in Massanutten. 1. Occupancy is limited to not more than 10 persons in this home. 2. Please keep noise levels to a minimum. Sounds travel differently between, over and through the valleys and hills. Quiet time is between 10:00 PM and 7:00 AM. Absolutely NO parties. 3. All vehicles must be parked in the designated areas on the property and completely off the roads (All tires must be completely off the roads). Overflow parking is available nearby. 4. Open fires are not permitted. 5. Trash should not be left outside for any reason (bears, raccoons, etc.) 6. Open containers of alcohol are not permitted on roads or community property. 7. Animals must be kept on a leash, when outdoors. 8. Please do not trespass on neighboring private property. We have full time residents on our street and they appreciate your respect of our neighborhood. 9. No vehicle larger than ¾ ton may be parked on any lot. Also, no buses, campers or mobile homes are permitted on any lot. If unsure, please contact us for options. 10. All persons fishing must also have a valid Virginia state or county fishing license unless exempted under state law. 11. Please do not hang towels over deck/porch rails. This quiet mountain neighborhood is easily accessed by car year round; however, if there is heavy snowfall, you may feel more comfortable with a 4 wheel or all wheel drive vehicle. Road snow removal is maintained by the community. The left hand turn onto Massanutten Dr. can be a little tricky because the one-way exit road is before the entrance road, so just be aware of this. After entering the resort gate, please be cautious when driving at night as the roads are two lane, dark and windy. You could also encounter deer or other wildlife along the road. Our home sits at the end of a quiet cul-de-sac with full time residents, therefore, please be respectful of their property. If you need more than 4 parking spaces, there is over-flow parking on the left hand side immediately after turning onto Lanier Lane from Massanutten Dr. We are close to everything the resort has to offer, so ENJOY! Things to do: You’ll find anything you want to make your vacation perfect-skiing, snow tubing, ice skating, hiking, golfing (2 courses), kayaking, river tubing, swimming (indoor/outdoor waterpark), horseback riding, go-carting, zip-lining, mountain biking, tennis and the list goes on. You will be approximately 15 miles from downtown Harrisonburg and James Madison University. Explore the fantastic restaurants, museums, and shops. The Shenandoah Valley offers many attractions including caverns, wineries, and breweries. Shenandoah River access is 10-miles from the house where you can enjoy tubing or kayaking during the warmer months. Swift Run Gap entrance to Shenandoah National Park, Skyline Drive, and the Appalachian Trail are only 15 miles away and offer excellent hiking for any level. Also, Charlottesville and Thomas Jefferson's, Monticello, are only one hour and 15 minutes away.
