Money & Payments Bring USD in cash, as many international cards do not work reliably in Cuba and cash is usually exchanged at a better rate. Please make sure your bills are clean and undamaged—torn, heavily worn, or marked bills can be difficult to exchange in the informal market. 2. Internet & SIM Cards If staying connected is important, you can pre-purchase a SIM card at suenacuba web and collect it at the airport upon arrival. 3. Prepaid Wi-Fi for the Apartment You may also choose to purchase prepaid Wi-Fi packages for use during your stay. Ask me anytime and I’ll share the state-offered packages available at that moment. Payment can be made through the platform or in cash locally with Yuni. 4. VPN Recommendation Please download a VPN app before arriving. Several international apps and websites are restricted within Cuba, and a VPN will help you access them normally. 5. Transportation Apps For taxis (Uber-style, cash payment): • La Nave • Cinco 6. Food Delivery For food delivery services similar to Rappi: • Mandao 7. Affordable Taxi Options One of the cheapest ways to get a taxi is through a group called Burumpa. If you’d like the invite link, just let me know. Once inside, type the word “taxi” and drivers will contact you directly. 8. Power Outage Updates Power outages follow a schedule that varies by area. I can share an invitation to the official Electric Company group, where real-time updates are posted. The apartment is located in Block 2, which will help you follow the correct schedule. 9. Nearby Places to Eat & Drink Within walking distance of the apartment, I recommend: • El Balcón de Diego – excellent food and a relaxed atmosphere • Al Forno (italian) – great pizza and refreshing drinks 10. Health & Mosquito Prevention Although the apartment is enclosed and mosquito exposure is well controlled, there is currently transmission of mosquito-borne illnesses in Cuba. Please bring insect repellent and use it regularly during your stay as a preventive measure. 11. Your Local Hosts: Yuni & Dane Yuni and Dane are your local hosts in Havana and trusted local experts. You can rely on them for: • Personalized activity recommendations • Excursions and local experiences • Assistance with currency exchange • Finding supplies or specific services • Breakfast services and logistics They are available to support you throughout your stay. If you use and find their services helpful, we kindly invite you to acknowledge their work with a gratuity of USD 5–10 per day of your stay. 12. Reviews Matter Before you leave, please don’t forget to rate your stay and recommend us. Your review is incredibly important for a small business like ours to continue growing and improving.
