Other things to note You'll be staying right by the sea in a place that has played a role in Italian history! The main building, recognizable by its distinctive airplane-shaped layout facing the coast, is the former children’s summer camp “Principi Umberto e Maria Josè di Piemonte”, built around 1930 as a seaside residence for the children of Italian Air Force personnel of the time. In the early 2000s, the complex underwent major renovations and was transformed into an exclusive beachfront residential development, carefully preserving its original and distinctive architectural design. ・・・ Are you a movie enthusiast? You may enjoy knowing that several scenes from “The English Patient” were filmed here in the 1990s. ・・・ The Calambrone and Tirrenia Dunes WWF Natural Oasis, part of the Migliarino San Rossore Massaciuccoli Regional Park, extends over 24 hectares and includes both the sandy coastal dunes and the pine forest behind them. This protected area is characterized by rich Mediterranean vegetation and dunes reaching up to 12 meters in height, which shelter native coastal species such as beach goldenrod, sea holly, marram grass, sea carrot, helichrysum, beach spurge, and the striking sea daffodil.
