Other things to note A wee bit of history --The cottage on Summer Island was built in 1947 and although it has had 4 owners the last family owned it for 48 years. Our family first discovered the cottage on Summer Island in 2005 after it had been unused by the last owner for 35 years. People who lived on Lake St Peter or visited the lake, sometimes visited the island for picnics and to spend time among the beautiful trees or to visit the abandoned cabin. Our family fell in love with the island and have come every year, slowly making improvements each year. We became close friends with the person who owned the property and eventually purchased it in 2012. The island was truly her Patmos and has been our special place for sure. We kept the original door that used to go from the porch into the living room that has “Help me I’m Dying” engraved on it (likely from during the abandoned years) and are using it as we wanted it to remain with the cottage. We are excited to be able to share this special place with people and hope you enjoy your stay!
