The Yang Room | Off-grid

This modern room can accommodate two guests. It has a king-size bed. It has an ensuite bathroom with a bath and a shower. Guests in this room have access to the use of the shared steam room. A full buffet breakfast is also available. The space We are a mere 20 min drive from Cape Town city but once you enter, you'll feel like you're in a different world. Wake up to the sound of birds chirping and water flowing and escape the cars and chaotic noises of the city. We are inside a private, lush Fynbos jungle with eco ponds and lots of paths to walk about and stretch your legs. You'll enjoy Mother Nature at her finest. We are on a colder side of the mountain due to where the sun sits, so we advise you to bring extra warm clothing especially during winter season. Our spaces were recently renovated by amazing architects and interior designers so that our guests can enjoy a premium experience along with the new solar panels that make Phakalane a safe haven away from the stresses of load shedding. Each part of the property has been carefully designed to give the guests a sense of tranquility and connection to earth and the elements. The rooms are spacious and the overall look and feel is minimalistic to further quiet the senses during your stay. We offer a delicious FREE BREAKFAST buffet which includes all day coffee and tea. We want to emphasize that our property upholds a complete alcohol-free policy, which extends to the rooms as well. This approach is aimed at creating a supportive and comfortable atmosphere for all our guests, ensuring that everyone can fully enjoy their stay with us. Guest access Once you enter the private gated estate, Tarragona Estate, you'll be greeted by friendly security guards and immediately get the sense of secure country living. Once at the Phakalane entrance gate there is a bell to gain access to our retreat. You can park anywhere in the parking lot and walk up the steps to be welcomed at reception before being shown to your private suite and surrounding property amenities. There are many books to read in our large library during your stay so please feel free to enjoy them in your rooms, along with using any of the communal spaces with wifi if you need to do any work. Group yoga classes are currently paused while we figure out a new yoga instructor and schedule, we ask for your understanding in this and apologize for any inconvenience caused. You can however do free, self guided yoga in the shala or temple rooms with our mats provided at any time you like. You can follow along with Youtube instructors like "Yoga with Adriene" or book private classes or small group classes with other guests for a cheaper cost. Please message us and we will happily organise for you :) During your stay At Phakalane Wellness Retreat Centre, we're dedicated to making your stay as comfortable and enjoyable as possible. We respect your privacy and understand the importance of having your own space. We're available to answer questions and address any concerns during our working hours ( 8am till 8pm). Other things to note We have a friendly black cat named Phoenix on our property that loves to roam about, he sometimes pops in to say hi to our guests and is very sweet. Please inform us if you have allergies to cats so we can see how best to assist. We take pride in providing an inclusive environment for all of our guests however, we regret to inform you that our facilities are not wheelchair accessible which may present challenges for some guests. We would be happy to provide recommendations for accessible accommodation nearby if needed.
