Description
Petschel House was built circa 1854 from local bluestone - the original farm homestead in the South Hamilton area. Today it boasts a Paul Bangay style garden with a productive orchard, Alpaca & sheep paddocks, cottage garden and artist studios with a gallery. The space The Bijou gallery on the property exhibits the fine art from resident artists Jenni Mitchell and Mervyn Hannan. Also available are their home made produce from the orchard as well as fine art materials. Jenni & Mervyn offer private painting sessions along with their regular painting classes and workshops. Guest access Guests have access to the beautiful gardens and lake as well as the Bijou gallery. An open fire may be lit on request in the lounge room and access to tea and coffee making. We will provide meals on request. During your stay Guests will have access to Jenni and Mervyn and will be able to take private painting sessions and tour of the working studios on request. Other things to note The painting classes - guests may join a regular class as a special visit student or ask for a one on one private class with Jenni or Mervyn. We also offer custom picture framing. Home grown organic produce may be purchased or cooked for you in season.
