Cottage with Piano, Books & Games in the Hunter

Wish you could stay in the Hunter Valley without paying a fortune? Then come and stay at The Four Magpies. It’s a cozy one-bedroom cottage within 25 minutes by car from the wineries in Pokolbin. It’s an 8-minute walk to the local shops and the RSL and a mere 5-minute drive to restaurants, pubs and cafes in Singleton. You'll be staying in the countryside but with all the conveniences. The space The Four Magpies is a cosy one-bedroom cottage with a big front yard and an even bigger backyard, providing 3 separate outdoor areas to enjoy. During the colder months, the best place to have breakfast is out on the patio to soak up the morning sun. During the warmer months, you can find shelter from the heat under the tree at the back of the garden or under the umbrella. With shade and a light breeze, you won’t even feel the summer temperatures! The cottage has: - a fully renovated and fully equipped kitchen - a redesigned living room with a dedicated workspace and an Android TV - a bedroom with a queen-sized bed and a large built-in wardrobe - a fun office/music/games room with a Yamaha digital piano, a second workspace and a reading corner with a collection of short stories, novels and comics in both English and French - a bathroom with instant hot water - a laundry with a washing machine The name “The Four Magpies” was inspired by a group of 3 or 4 magpies that like to wander around our garden. Sometimes, they’ll settle in one of the big trees out the back and chatter amongst themselves; other times, they’ll waddle on our lawn looking for food, and other times you’ll find them perched on the garden fence singing in chorus with their beaks in the air (see photos). Either way, the magpies will keep you entertained! The Four Magpies is also ideal for longer stays as we have all the necessary amenities and two dedicated workspaces. P.S. Please note that the steps of the front patio still need a coat of paint. This will be done in July when I'm back from overseas. Guest access You'll have access to the entire property. Self check-in. Other things to note Whether you’re a young or an older married couple, straight or gay, we welcome all couples from any nationality and race! Of course, we also welcome friends, but no more than two ;) We don’t allow children or pets, not because we don’t love them but because the place was not designed for them.
