The space Tucked away in a peaceful hollow just off the street, this cosy Kiwi bach offers a tranquil escape just moments from the water. While there are no sea or river views from inside the house, you're only a short stroll from the water’s edge—simply walk to the top of the section, cross the car park, and you’re there. For direct river access, head through the gate in the backyard and follow the sandy 20-metre track down to the Mokau River—perfect for swimming, fishing, or just relaxing by the water. The bach itself is compact but full of charm, well-equipped and thoughtfully set up for a comfortable stay. The master bedroom features a queen-sized bed, while the bunk room provides plenty of bedding for the kids to sleep. Guest access You'll have the entire property to yourself, offering privacy and space to relax. Please note, the lock-up garage on-site is not available for guest use. The bathroom is attached to the house but is accessed externally via a covered walkway—adding to the classic Kiwi bach experience. There are two steps up to the back door to enter the house. Other things to note The driveway is grass, so please take care when driving in and out—especially if it's been raining. It’s safe and manageable, just worth a mention to help you plan ahead. As we're located in a beautiful rural beachside town on the rugged west coast, you're surrounded by nature—which occasionally includes a spider, mouse, or even a curious rabbit. While we do our best to keep these critters outside where they belong (don’t worry, the rabbits don’t come inside!), they may sneak in from time to time. This is rare, but if you have strong phobias, it’s something to consider. One of the classic Kiwi Bach quirks: the bathroom and toilet are attached to the house but accessed externally, just outside the back door under a covered porch. You’ll want to keep this in mind if you’re up during the night—but it’s all part of the authentic Bach experience!
