Description
Take a break in this unique Cape coastal village. Wake up to birdsong and stare at the ocean for hours. Adventurous spirits can explore gentle walks without getting in the car, enjoy a leisurely morning coffee and buy fresh goods at the local Hub, take a five minute walk from the house for a refreshing swim in the turquoise cold sea, run on the beaches or do yoga on the stoep with Cape Point Nature Reserve spread out luxuriously before you. This is the place to unwind and connect with nature! The space This little house is on a large plot with a wild garden overlooking the sea. There is very good, reliable fibre / wifi in the house and we have set up a UPS to ensure continued wifi access through loadshedding. The dining room table is very comfortable for working, with views to die for! There is a gas stove, so it's possible to prepare food and boil water during loadshedding. The downstairs room has a double bed and ensuite with shower and access to three stoeps around the house. There is a bistro table and chairs on the shady stoep downstairs - protected from the heat and the wind. The entrance hall has a guest toilet and the stairs lead up to the lounge and kitchen and a further two stoeps - one exposed and one fairly sheltered. There are deck chairs and a bistro table and chairs upstairs. Guest access The whole house and garden are entirely for the guests private use. Other things to note Scarborough has a wonderful wild feel to it, as it borders Cape Nature Reserve, so it's not uncommon to see wild animals living amongst the human residents (porcupines, otters, mongoose, baboons, tortoises and other reptiles) and frequent sightings of antelope in the reserve and dolphins, whales and seals in the sea. It can also feel wild at times, temperatures can be hot in the summer and the Cape Southeaster can blow relentlessly! If you are adventurous and enjoy nature, you will love the wildness and fall under the spell of this magical place.
