A Home Among the Gum Trees

Relax amid nature in a unique, vibrant home with stunning leafy outlook, 30mins drive from Brisbane CBD. Rustic 80s home, not pristine perfect but full of character & colour. There's a protected koala corridor out back and plenty of wildlife to see! You'll have the whole top floor of the 3 story house to yourself, 7 steps up, private entry, high ceilings, spacious bedroom, ensuite, large verandah, eating & living areas, galley-style kitchen. Dining options, shops and train 5- 10 min drive away. The space The house is a unique 80s home with rustic wooden floorboards and vintage and cottage wood furnishings throughout. It's not perfect -we are slowly improving things when we can- but has loads of character and is very comfortable and homely! Recently painted walls and ceiling. Decorations are bright and colourful. Furnishings are clean and comfy. It's quite spacious with different areas to relax in, or you can sit on the deck and breathe in the leafy view. Wonderful birdlife and wildlife abound, including some sweet resident possums who sometimes sleep in the box we made on the balcony and say hello for fruit donations. Spaces include: -1 large bedroom with walk-in wardrobe -Large ensuite bathroom off the bedroom -Galley style kitchen -Dining area looking over the gum trees -Spacious lounge room with large TV, boardgames and puzzles -Reading nook with comfy armchair -Large balcony overlooking the backyard below, gum trees and mountains in the distance, a great place to rest, read, have coffee or a drink. It's especially beautiful at dusk and dawn. The house is built on a slope so the Airbnb is the top floor but only a few steps up from the front door. The majority of our time is spent living on the lowest floor with our own side entry. The middle floor (which we call Middle Earth) is a great sound buffer between our living spaces, so you can have your privacy and relax during your stay. The laundry is in Middle Earth and we can arrange access for you when required. The front yard is a shared space, you may see us attending to our beloved garden at times - and you are always welcome to wave, say hello or have a look around. Our cats live downstairs with us but sometimes have outside adventures on a leash - they are a bit shy with strangers so don't be offended if they bolt when they see you! We give our guests space and privacy during their stay, but are of course happy to interact if you wish to meet us and have a chat :) We endeavour to give our guests a great Airbnb experience; we invite any questions or concerns that arise during your stay so we can make you feel as comfortable as possible and thoroughly enjoy your visit. Guest access As well as the top floor, you are welcome to wander around the front vege gardens and lawn and there is a shady stone area where you can sit and enjoy a beer (or drink of choice!) and you can use the fire brazier - checking for fire bans first of course :) Other things to note We strive to give you the best experience possible during your stay, and will happily respond to messages/ requests/ suggestions as best we can, whenever we can!
