Description
Retreat to the Snug in a central Dorset location. Short drive from here to most of Dorset’s famous beaches, pretty towns and historic sites. Guests have their own cabin in our garden with private access and a small outdoor seating area. The cabin has 1 cosy double bed, a shower room with wc and sink, small kitchen with plug-in hob, kettle and toaster as well as a fridge to store all you need for a weekend spent exploring and escaping the busyness of life. Further details below. The space The Snug was designed and built by my husband James in 2021 following a year of lockdowns, working from home and all the juggling that entails with a family too. It’s a self contained unit and is completely private from our house. The space is light and airy with big glass windows and doors at the front. We have installed a small kitchenette space, a walk-in shower in the bathroom, a relaxing living space with tv, games and books, a dining area as well as a cosy bed that you climb a couple of steps up to and then sleep ‘under the stars’ (or maybe just twinkly lights). There is now space to hang clothes/coats on a storage rack as you enter The Snug. There is a small bench seat and shelves for shoes/bags. Outside there is a large space with outside bistro set (more to come to this space). It’s lovely and shady so provides a nice cool spot to hangout on the hot summer days that we have had lately. Very peaceful too. It’s an ideal retreat for couples looking to have a break in the beautiful Dorset countryside. We are based in a small town but you can easily drive to nearby tourists sites and bigger towns for day trips. Guest access Access is through the side gate of our house. There is a small gravel area with bins next to the side of the house and then two more gates. A key box is next to the gate for The Snug and then you are through to your completely private Dorset retreat. Other things to note There is parking on our quiet road, only 30 seconds walk to The Snug. The bed has a small step ladder to access it as it is on a raised platform (see photos). It is therefore not suitable for people who could not use this. There is also a small step in to The Snug itself. (Again shown in the listing pictures.)
