Quick Overview: - Located on 18 secluded acres - Access to the Zaleski State Forest Hiking Trails - Fully equipped kitchenette - Fully furnished deck with fire pit and soaking tub - Modern private bathhouse - short drive to Lake Hope State Park - under 30 Min drive to Hocking Hills State Park or Athens, Ohio Detail: the Cocoon Dome is 300 sq ft and features a Queen size bed in a loft (accessible via ladder), living area and fully equipped kitchenette. Your private bathroom is located a short walk away and has a shower with rainfall shower head, toilet and sink/vanity. Your spacious deck is outfitted with a BBQ grill, seating, firepit and a soaking tub. Amenities: We provide tons of extras so you can pack light. All linens/towels are provided. You will also find coffee+tea (local), creamer, 1/2 dozen local eggs, spices, oils and condiments in the kitchen. (An extensive list of what is provided and amenities will be sent 14 days before check in to help you pack light.) WIFI: We do have Wi-Fi (though no cell service) but we strongly encourage guests to disconnect during their stay at Rooted Domes. Here you will find a unique space to disconnect from the hustle and bustle of everyday life and just BE. Immerse yourself in the natural beauty of the surrounding forest and indulge your senses with an array of engaging activities to enhance your stay, including games, puzzles, coloring books, musical instruments, yoga mats, and much more! Other Guests: There is a second Dome on the property and the domes are orientated for the most privacy. The domes/guests share the parking area, the pathway to the site and access to the creek and forest. Please observe a quiet time (low music) between 9pm and 8am so everyone can enjoy the sounds of the forest! Guest access PARKING: A gravel parking area is available for up to 4 vehicles. Please note the driveway is steep. An All Wheel Drive is recommended but not required. PATHWAY: Our domes are a 500-foot walk from the parking area and includes a steep set of stairs. We provide luggage carts for your belongings. However, please pack light as the carts cannot traverse the stairs leading to your dome. Leave them at the bottom of the stairs for your return trip! THE PROPERTY: Feel free to explore the property and beyond as much as you would like. There are two marked routes that will get you to Zaleski state forest hiking trails. Other things to note DRIVING: Please save directions offline as there is no cell service in the area. CELL PHONE SERVICE: Only T-Mobile users will receive any signal on the property. ACCESSIBILITY: The domes are located a short walk from the parking area (approx. 500 ft) and require going up a set of stairs. Please bring appropriate shoes for the weather. ADULTS ONLY: maximum occupancy is 2 adults. BOOKING THE ENTIRE SITE: The entire site will accommodate 4 people. If you book the whole site, children over 12 are welcome.
