Holiday cottage in idyllic grounds

Rural location in the east of the island, this high quality 2 bed detached cottage is set within the beautiful grounds of our family property. Superbly located for exploring the island and on the doorstep of heritage attraction, La Hougue Bie. Fantastic cycling and walking opportunities around the quiet lanes. The picture-postcard castle, harbour, beach and restaurants of Gorey are a 5 min drive away. Bus stop located next to the property- direct routes to Gorey, Jersey Zoo and St Helier. The space Perfect for individuals, couples, families or groups of friends of up to 5 people (plus 1 infant). The newly renovated, beautifully presented and well equipped Loft House has been set up to provide the comfort of home and give you a relaxing base from which to explore the island. The Loft House benefits from a picturesque garden and rural setting with distant sea views from the garden. The grounds consist of a large mature garden with 100 year old trees and an orchard, providing an idyllic setting for a holiday. The garden is full of wildlife and you will likely see our resident red squirrels and numerous birds. Our rural location means peaceful summer evenings and once the sun sets the low light pollution allows you to enjoy the incredible display of stars. The Loft House is located within a large outbuilding 5m from our house. The accommodation is predominantly on the first floor. On entering you will find yourself in a large bright entrance hall. To the left is the main bathroom with shower, sink and toilet and there is a separate utility cupboard with washing machine. Ascend the stairs to the main living area where leading off the landing you will enter the spacious and bright kitchen/diner/lounge with vaulted ceiling and treetop views over the garden. The modern kitchen, with ample worktop space is fully equipped and includes electric oven and hob, fridge with ice box, dishwasher and microwave. A dining table provides seating for up to six with four chairs and two additional stools. The lounge area has a large sofa and Smart TV. There is a digital radio with bluetooth connection to enable you to play your own music through the speaker. The master bedroom with a view over a field, has a comfortable king sized bed, hanging space and chest of drawers. The second bedroom has two single beds with mattresses that can zip together to form a superking bed. A mezzanine snug is located above the second bedroom and is accessed by a sturdy ship’s ladder that can remain in position or be swung up against the wall out of the way. The snug has a flat screen Smart TV and daybed that provides sleeping for one. A WC is located on the first floor. Guest access A picnic table, Weber charcoal BBQ and a fire pit is provided in the orchard for guest use. Our friendly Labrador lives with us and to keep her safe our garden is secure with fencing and gates. To enter the secure garden area from the Loft House you will need to go through a gate. Please ensure the gate is closed behind you. Other things to note We live in the main house with our three children and friendly Labrador dog. We are on hand to assist in any way to ensure you have an enjoyable stay and we have plenty of recommendations for things to do and places to visit during your holiday in Jersey. We sometimes (Monday-Friday mornings) look after two or three other dogs in our home and garden in addition to our own.
